A lot of you act like opiates have a mind of their own.

You abused them, became addicted and blame the drug rather than your own actions and lack of self control.

Probably the same type of person to blame drug dealers for your addiction because you don't want to take any responsibility for yourself and play victim like you were innocent in your role of substance abuse.

Can it creep up on you without you realizing?  Yes. Is it tough to kick?  Yes.  But let's be real. You knew what you were doing.

I have been abusing benzos for a decade, binged, went through withdrawals, had seizures.  Not once did I blame anything but myself.  I chose to use and abuse and I am dealing with the consequences of my actions still.

To blame the drug is such a weak stand.

Blame yourself and do something about it instead of that 12 step bullshit that you are powerless.  Cause if you're not in control, than who is?

The heroin pom-poms are unbecoming.  Heroin has been considered a scourge since it’s discovery, and the users will always defend it.  Opiates, especially heroin, are a killing machine.

There might be a few exceptions to the rule, but for the most part, it takes no prisoners.

It wasn't named Hero because they just fucking ran out of names.
I've had some crazy experiences with dmt, mushrooms, lucid dream/out of body experiences, but nothing has made me not only mentally instantly like I could do anything but physically. Strength, endurance, overall energy easily doubled. And factually, not in some nodded off fantasy kind of way. Just a bump of raw white magic

Like everything purity and dosage dosage dosage. And that's what leads to tragic endings. Legality would eliminate over half of the problems blamed on a drug. For one, it rarely is raw and frequently is not just the drug the user thinks they are buying. Regulation like alcohol ensures purity, dosage, and price would fall 10 fold. Almost forgot about all those humans rotting away in cages. Who benefits most from this trillion dollar black budget, easy way to eliminate anyone, easy way to put anyone in a cage?

A controlled market is a safe market. Freedom of choice. If someones wants to knock a bottle of poison back or sniff a line, or jump out of a plane who the fuck is anyone to say no.

There was a poem
About a dog
Who found two bones
He peeked at one
He licked the other
He went in circles
Then he dropped dead

I once hit 13 3 pointers in a row while on heroin.

Heroin wasn't always a scourge. Bayor produced it for a reason.

The lack of drug knowledge on a drug forum is pretty sad. But some of you really know your shit.

If you are terminally ill, heroin is the best we have for painkilling. This is why Britain still prescribes it, as "diamorphine" to the dying.

The British believed in going out with a bang.

The dying were often injected with a mixture of heroin and cocaine to "alleviate suffering".

It would be cool to know that if you DO die, nurses are ready to shoot you up with speedballs until you croak

^^^  So much this, I used heroin for years always kept a job never missed a day. It helped me to live after a car wreck. Its people with no willpower who let opiates get ahold of them. I dont believe in opiates being a bad thing. They are a tool like any other the user is the one who abuses them.

Bayer is the reason it was considered a scourge.  They sold it as a non-addictive alternative to morphine.  That didn’t turn out to well.

I think stimulants are a little more addictive because they cause psychosis and prevent you from making rational decisions

On the other hand opiates numbs emotional and physical pain and it seems to cause more lethal overdoses

They're all very bad drugs to get addicted to

I disagree with this. Having been heavy into pretty much everything at some point, I found that stimulants were much easier to manage as I would not wake up craving them, even after several days use. There was no 'physical dependency' that make me feel ill if I hadn't had them for a few days.

Not so with opiates. It can easily get to the point where just going a morning without your usual hit will have you scrabbling and clucking like crazy to get some.

The most habit forming substances I've ever known. Avoid at all costs IMO.

It will only destroy what you are not.

People that down on their luck will turn to anything they can get their hands on to ease their suffering. Of course we will have preferences. But don't sit there and tell me that stimulants are more addictive than opiates, cause it's a crock.

True, but it couldn't have been that bad for them to sell the damn stuff. So basically what they're saying the only harmful part is the withdrawal. There's many ways around the withdrawal nowadays
