If you can get individual grains I'd highly reccomend milo or the wheat:awesomenod:

Milo(sorghum) is my all time favorite grain:cool:

I think the Milo is ground already but I'm not sure, I tried a mix of hulled millet (2 cups) golden flax seed (1 cup) think it was red wheat and regular wheat (1/2 cup) and hemp hearts (1/2 cup) just kinda kept adding in extras until it looked like WBS lmao

So far ive tried rinsing and a 14 hour soak followed by fan drying for half a day but they were still kinda wet and i tried rinsing and then simmering for 5 minutes and then just letting them sit in a colander overnight to dry and so far theyre still way to wet and sticky to PC

Also did not realize WBS expands alot when PC'd hahaha I can't even shake my quart jar because it all expanded to much (totally still gonna noc it up)

I use Wagner's.  Working great as we speak... just noc'd it up a few days ago with agar.  Will show pics later.

btw... this is the best, most practical idea for a thread that I've seen!

Thank you! I'll have to check out what's all in Wagner's brand!

It's sticky because of the hulled millet.

I realize you did this for fun, but I don't think there is any practical reason to do this. Consistent and easily prepared grain is the way to go.:smoker:

Damn I really like the millet to, it's more of just a fun side project since it was cheaper to buy the pieces to make WBS then to buy a big bag, also since I only wanted to do a couple jars of it for some pans

If you wanna use millet then snag a bag of white millet from the feed store just like any other grain. Cook it gently.

I would rather use the hulled millet, flax seed, and hemp hearts to make a wholesome bread to eat. Considering the cost of these ingredients along with their other pros and cons I think it's not a good choice.

I think you always have to be running some experiment on the side.

Cost wasn't an issue the total cost for a couple jars came out to like 2 bucks and some change, so for a small side project thats not bad at all

yeah lol I always hear of people on here saving pennies.  This is a cheap hobby as opposed to agriculture with plants.

pennies make dollars and the rich stay rich by clipping coupons

As for agriculture, you probably mean horticulture.

Your attitude towards money sounds a bit cavalier Atmoz, don't get too loose with your change or else you might find one day you don't have enough. I member when I used to say I piss $300, now I barely have as much.

yeah probably right.  i'm terrible at saving.  And my Dad's a retired accountant who saves every dime.

and yes, horticulture
