It makes you look more like how you actually act on the world stage imo.
The reality is your world position is based on military strength borne of unique times not the moral compass that you think we carry.

Bringing out in the parade just brings it a little bit to close to home..it seems.

Trump only got 4% of the vote in DC. Republicans have been very meddlesome in DC’s local politics, imposing their will over city affairs. The reason DC doesn’t have fully implemented legalization of marijuana despite the language of the ballot initiative that passed is republicans from the rest of the country decided to block it. DC is prohibited from changing any laws concerning pot including setting up a regulatory structure for its sale.

Republicans also took away the voting rights of DC’s delegate in Congress and have consistently blocked efforts to give DC residents actual representation in Congress - hence the slogan on DC license plates:

Yes. I am.

I go there on a regular basis, and have family that live there. I'm probably much more well versed on "city elites" than you are on us "backwards-ass country yokels" which I guess is what we call anyone who doesn't live in Chicago, NYC, or D.C.

I think it projects insecurity. We never really did this stuff and the Soviet Union provided the archetype for what Trump is doing.
