Possible? yes, likely...no. it depends on how old is old and how dry is dry.
It can be done.Inner tissue close to the base.  If they were baked in the oven to dry and over a couple months old i doubt you will have success.

I feel like it's spores people get to germinate off of dried fruit more than they are cloning tissue. I'm sure it's possible or whatever it just seems obvious that dried cubes are covered in cube spores.

A good tissue sample will last years and its not spores

If they're dried in a dehydrator your chances are slim to none

Thanks for all the replys! More of just a thought. I have a few prints just curious more then anything. The shrooms I have are as old as my prints (10yrs).
Might be fun to try some time they were fan dried and then desiccant dried to cracker dry.

They will probably grow but cleaning may be hard

I pulled it off with a PE fruit that was dried in a dehydrator and sealed up for about two years. It was before I was a member of the site and I didn't document it so.... I know.... I know. Pics or it didn't happen. Maybe I'll do it again just to settle the issue. I don't think it was spores though as I was very careful to just get I tiny fragment of inner stipe tissue to agar.

Doesntbsurprise me at all I doubt fruits get even close to pasturizing temps in a dehydrator

Depends on the dehydrator. My dehydrator is set to 165 but doesn't maintain the heat as long as the mushrooms are still loaded with water. But when things are almost done I can tell without opening it up because it maintains much much better. I wouldn't be surprised if my magic gets properly pasteurised. My question is whether or not that will definitively kill the myc.

What was the agar consistency? Was it wetter than normal, in order to help rejuvenation??
