What do you do with your unused shrooms?!

I'm thinking about getting into growing mushrooms again because I love the hobby, but I still have mushrooms from two years ago! I'll mostly grow edibles, but a single active grow will probably give me waaaaay more than I know what to do with...

What do you do with all of them? I don't even have many friends who are into psychedelics, so giving them away isn't a possibility, and there's no way I'm selling them! I'll probably just compost what I don't use and can't save.

I don't see the point in storing all of them, especially if I already have a bunch. It also makes it more of a risk if some day the feds come a knocking. :trollcop:

Dry them then save them for a later date.

I had mushrooms for like 2 years after I grew, like 6 jar fulls. 2 years later they were still seemingly as potent as the day I picked them

Yep they last way longer than you’d expect if you’re storing them in mason jars bone dry and in a cool dark place. I kept some like 3-4 years that way and still seemed potent!

Word. Sunlight and oxygen will totally destroy them though. Plastic baggies are no good for storing mushrooms. I think they can lose potency in a matter of weeks or months this way.

I store my acid in a mason jar too now

Yep. Same. I double bag them in zip locks and then into a jar. Room temp in a box. It's always worked for me.

Gift them to some homeless folks downtown, might stir them into action... you could help change their lives around, or at least give them a break from it...  or hyper focus on it and crumble.. shrooms:shrug:

Leftover crack is exactly what I thought when I read "leftover shrooms"...as if there is such a thing. They're just shrooms you have for later :shrug:
Seriously though, bone dry in a mason jar in a freezer and they'll never go bad.
