I've officially quit smoking... Again

Been over 24 hours and while I do want cigarettes at certain times I used to smoke (after eating for instance) it's not too bad. I mean I use dip now (have for months) so I still have nicotine, I'm quitting mostly cuz I can't handle all the physical activity at my job. I get winded way too easily.

Usually by now I'd want to kill people. I'm not really feeling the rage and shit, just the strong desire to be inhaling something. Wish I could afford a vape but I can't right now.

Stick with it.  It's a shitty habit and costs a lot of money to kill yourself slowly. 

Nothing wrong with a smoke here and there but regular smoking is lame.

Congrats friend! I'm currently on week 5 of no cigs. Have you tried looking online? I got my vape for 30 ish bucks on vapewild. Retail stores will conpletely screw you on price.

I know where to get them. I was heavy into vaping before I got locked up, I bought my pg and vg by the gallon.i just can't afford it right now, don't really have the disposable income. My cig habit was actually cheap. I was buying filtered cigars for a dollar a pack and they'd last me a couple days.

Cigs are bitches. Ive relapsed after 2 weeks. Gladly they made me cough and the taste now is not quite pleasant.

So how's the quitting going? I'm trying to quit again today. I feel like this is it. I never really thought "ok I'm 100% done this time" before, just took it by the week really. But I'm just getting real pissed off at myself lately for still smoking.

I wrote down a list of the negatives of smoking and the positives of quitting to keep next to my bed, and in the bathroom, even took a pic of it and made it my screen saver on my phone and I bought some tooth picks to replace the habit. And lots of sugar free gum too. I might even fast for a few days to get it out of my system faster, I know that's worked for some people. No vaping either, nicotine itself can do some damage, obviously not as bad as smoking, but I feel like as long as I have nicotine in my system I'll still inevitably get cravings for a cig because vaping is just not the same as smoking.

I only quit when I became pregnant and breast feeding; I literally could not quit for myself and had to for someone else.


Good luck, a little over 7 months COMPLETELY cig free and I can tell you it is worth it. The tastes, the smells, oh my lanta I never want to smoke again.

I could smell the rain. I never. ever. smelled the rain.

I quit cigs and started producing mad plumes yo.  After a year or so I lit up a cig and about half way through had to snuff it out because I could realize how poisonous they are.  Legit poison.

Now I gotta quit vaping because it can’t be good to blast your teeth with candy steam all day.  I’m losing my patience with shit that requires you to take it.  I don’t like being nagged if I don’t obey..

That’s hella you quit.  I had a friend who’s mom smoked during pregnancy and he was tiny.  Mom’s who do stuff like that go to the shit list immediately..

That's what fucks me off the most about it. I love smoking, I just hate being habitual; first thing/last thing/all through the day about it. The nagging is a cunt alright.

I'm gearing up to do a four day water fast in July to knock the cravings out of the park. The hard bit is staying quit though.

I managed 2.5 years in my mid twenties, and two months in my early thirties. Only times I felt truly free.

I'm set on this being the last time though. Not making this mistake again.

Yeah man if you can manage to get some distance treat it exactly like alcoholics treat the “first drink”.  Avoid the first and you avoid the 50th and every one inbetween.  I’m getting real zero tolerance of a few things like that.

Edit but i had big baby girls 8 lb 4 oz and 7 lb 11 oz. But because I didnt do it all the time.

I slipped up once and a while when pregnant so im not perfect but I quit 100% when i delivered and started breastfeeding.

Fun fact:

Cinnamon shuts down the receptors in the brain that creates nicotine cravings.

Suck on a cinnamon ball, you get the oral fixation and the craving goes away.

Retrain the brain :smile:

my e cig broke the internal charger is loose so I have to use my external charger, do i buy a new one for $99 or do I try to quit this stupid addiction, ill probably not quit, im too weak, maybe ill ask for chantix

I smoked about 5 cigs since sunday. The mate smokes so it's a bit harder for me to quit. Almost every friend we have smokes as well, so when we go to the pub and have drinks and food whatever there's that time when they all go to smoke. I'm not smoking this weekend, and I'm in the process of quitting again as well. I had stopped and not had one for a solid year before I left my ex back in 2011, as soon as I saw the 1st store on my way out of town I bought a pack, huge mistake.
