Altruism - imagine every member of the human tribe giving more of emotional worth than they take.

Science - to find the most efficient ways on how to truly stay altruistic and enjoy it.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Agreed. That is the first and most important step towards global altruism.

I'm sickened how the very rich indulge in luxury while starving brown kids suffer. Little if anything has changed over time.

Surely, the law is not infallible (like any human institution) it is our best shot, though. You think judges and juries get it right, most of the time?

Meh, in criminal cases yes. Civil depends a lot more on the skills of the attorneys.  Still,  I'm not saying the laws themselves are adequately balanced at this point.

My position is that this is a war. The rich and conservatives have won most of the battles since 1980 on economic issues (although the liberal/left have gained ground on social/cultural issues).

Yes I know I'm contradicting my own statements on the long term movement of this country to the left. I'm probably tied for being the oldest person here with one or two others, so my long term is longer than yours.

I say fight the conservatives tooth and nail to take back and increase the gains that FDR and I dare say Lyndon Johnson enacted.

Many people claim religion is the root of all evil. It really is just a package that comes along with politics. Christian warfare and Islamic warfare is politics. Look at alt-right terrorists and Muslim terrorists, they're ultimately fighting for a better standard of living using religion as a cover to justify their wrongdoings. Survival means everything, that's why religious people cry at funerals and don't celebrate heaven.

Imagine living in a world where having the largest economy means more to grown up world leaders than children starving.

Politics guides the economy and the economy doesn't give a fuck about religions and the moral aspect of it. It's business as usual.

Institutional religion is a sub-element. Politics is the organizer.

There must be balance, but that balance should favor individual freedom. Law is a means to help individual animals coexist.  In that way, it is necessarily a step away from our natural state. Clearly, society benefits from some laws, but when it starts pulling too far, humans don't react as well.

Neither position as an extreme can work for a society, but extreme safety makes us no longer human. Extreme freedom makes us no longer a society. The balance must tip in favor of being human.

Neither position as an extreme can work for a society, but extreme safety makes us no longer human. Extreme freedom makes us no longer a society. The balance must tip in favor of being human.

I fear laws and I don't want to fear laws, I want to feel safe from laws but I still feel protected by laws and without laws I might have been suffering big time by now. Why do you bring up the extremes and why can't these two position be of equal importance?

In my society human beings are creatures with limited freedom and strict doctrines in altruism and lovey-dovey peaceful emotional communion. Hippie-facism. It sounds harsh but I think it's the only way for us all to unite inside some sort of oneness. I'm all about liberation but human beings can't have too much of it. Extreme and even decent amounts of freedom ain't all that, it's often a threat to the individual, delusions comes to mind. Humans seems to reflect their environment and the universe sure is destructive. If we somehow managed to turn those destructive particles into advantageous particles I'm all about extreme freedom.

First and foremost I want to be drugged out of my mind on altruism, emotional communion, peace and love. Think constantly increasing MDMA, amphetamine and mescaline-high. :heart:
