Really confused about how much water is required.

Here are a couple of pics at harvest - 310g
2 qt of spawn

What to do with all the tiny little pins before the second flush? How to add water and what is the correct amount to add?
Should I leave it upside down or right side up?

Nice harvest.  Don't worry about the water too much.  You spawn it at field capacity and there is plenty of water.

2 qts is at the very low end of how much spawn to use.  That can contribute to a lower yield.

You can wait for the small ones to mature or cut them now.

Id leave it the way it is.  Just bottom water it or dunk it for a few hours and drain completely.

The problem with bottom watering and letting them mature whenever is having fresh mushrooms trickling through a few a day when it's easier to whack batches into the dehydrator simultaneously in one swoop.

If you're using a dehydrator just cut them all now in one harvest. Even the small ones. You don't need to remove all of the actual tiny new pins they should be fine and they're your next mushrooms. Don't have to get anal about removing. Then soak the whole thing in water for 12-24 hours. No more than 24 hours. When you pour loads of water in it will float. Some people opt to put a weight on top with a large surface area (so the weight is dispersed over the mycelium and therefore doesn't damage it) to hold it under the water, but honestly I don't even bother. It will soak in plenty of water from the sides and bottom.

You'll need a piece of wood or something to place on top of the mycelium when your pouring the water away...so that it doesn't snap in two.

Then just care for as normal and wait for the second flush. Make sure to keep updating us. I want to know if your second flush is better. Even though your first is definitely impressive considering it's your first.

I've dunked this tub and its heavy. Is this normally what the water content should be?
I have sister tub to this one and its feather light in comparison. It is 1.5 days behind the first tub. Fruits are even smaller.
Can I save this tub with bottom watering ?

What do you mean? You've dunked it and poured the water away and it's heavy? Well it's going to be heavier now that it has absorbed some water.

Everything will be ok just continue and do the same with the sister tub after harvest.

What a mess. Not sure if that's mold or not.
definitely dunked it too long. Everything looks water logged.

I've pulled off a couple med size clusters that have matured. The stems look saturates and very hollow.

Funzies.

I dunked this tub for 3 hrs and it came out like a Christmas cake.

The sister tub I dunked for an hour and I think that was the sweet spot. Perhaps on the wet side.

Man there's a lot of info floating around. Dunk for 12hrs?
