Small mushrooms over field capacity

I have a monotub that has nice pinset from a spore print to agar. It is showing no signs of bacteria. No yellowing of the mycelium. No metabolites. Surface moister is fine. Everything about the tub is showing signs that it's clean and healthy fruits all growing steady and at the same place. But one fruit looked like it's veil was about to open. Some other fruits look like there veils are about to pop but the thing is all the fruits are like 1 inch tall. Could that be from over field capacity? Maby genetics?I used standard recipe. 1 brick coir 2qts fine verm,4qts water, and 4 qts fully colonized spawn.has anyone had this happen to them. I have pics as well if that helps

Pics always help but ya what you listed are common reasons to small fruits. Too wet of substrate and genetics are the biggest factor I've ran into. You could go back to the spore print and try again or get another print and start over. If you post a picture and it's really wet I'd wait n see if the 2nd flush ends up better or not.

Eh not all coir is the same, some can hold more water without being waterlogged ya know. Also if it is genetics you don't wanna clone it or you'll just end up with more shorties. Again though some pics would help to see it.

Oh yeah, the recipes are just rough guidelines. I had a batch of coir, i had to squeeze out more than a quart as with the batch before.
Them brick brands are compressed differently at also different temps i guess. You always want to test fc anyway.

Yea the weight of the coir blocks varies wildly. They are supposed to be 650 grams in theory but when I weighed a bunch they were all over the place.
