Odd-Job ideas for apartment building?
    #25901004 -

I live in an apartment building, and I'd like to make more money (or even enough to leave my current job) by doing odd-jobs for residents. Any ideas? Some of mine including doing food shopping for residents (if it's Whole Foods I could use my Prime account for 10% sale items), could shop for them at Trader Joe's, which doesn't have any delivery service as far as I know, pet sitting, moving residents' cars so they don't get a ticket, etc.

Parking in my area is not good. I've done a little bit of food delivery. It's ok sometimes (loved the time I delivered groceries to someone who lives across the street from me), but sometimes it's bad.

Are you handy? How about doing handyman jobs for the owner?

It's likely there is always a leaky faucet, stuck window etc. You could also do odd jobs around the complex, shovel snow, etc.

Are you good at tech stuff? lots of older residents need computer/smartphone/internet/stereo help.
could be lucrative with almost zero investment

Why does it have to be inside of your apartment building? Why don't you get a job?

Stop telling people to get a job. Either give him specifics on getting the super awesome job you must CLEARLY have making statements like this or stop giving questionable advice.

I thought America was at record low un-employment. There are jobs everywhere.

There are jobs but most don't pay a living wage. Our work to money ratio is headed strait towards 3rd world country BS. Having worked many jobs I felt EXTREMELY lucky to get paid 9.50 an hour and that job was rare AF

It's becoming the norm to work 2+ of these shitty minimum wage jobs which ruins our country's social charms because everyone is miserable and too tired from working to develop meaningful relationships.

OP: I recommend using some sort of socialist nightmare app like Lyft/Task Rabbit/Door Dash/UBER Eats/Etc. Trying to do this just inside your apartment building will lead to disapointment, I'm sure.

You could also try to talk with your management company and see if they need like a janitor? I know a guy in my building who takes out all the trash for the building every other day, get's $200 a month off his rent, says it takes about 20 min per time he does it.

That's because we stop tracking people after they've been unemployed for over 6 months. We just stop paying them "unemployment". Here's a decent article from about a year ago as to the reasons why our "record low" looks good on paper, but is a lie: https://www.forbes.com/sites/eriksherman/2018/05/05/sure-unemployment-went-down-because-the-number-of-people-working-did/#6b32344a408b
