Caseing
    #25888362 -

Hello. New here. I was doing reading on caseing. I understand that it keeps things moist. I read somewhere else that mushrooms don't like water. Im kinda confused. I plan to do it with verm. Is there something else I should use? Should I even bother with it? As always, any advice will be helpful.

what variety are you using? a casing helps maintain surface conditions. whatever you read about mushrooms not liking water is false. mushrooms are 90-93% water. some species can abort easily if they are oversaturated. but it's not a concern with cubes.

Im gonna dissagree with you slightly here. You can totally fuck up a cube flush with water.

As far as casing, i have only used 50/50+ peat/verm/hyd lime. I thnk it works great, but its hard to clean that shit off if you harvest by twist & rip.

Oversaturated substrate and overmisting can stunt growth, but theres no need to be afraid of water. Cubes can be misted directly no problem. But i dont mist monotubs until 2nd or 3rd flush
