 how to induce pinning on a casing

casing surface is now about 20% mycelium colonized. the top of the container is covered by airtight saran wrap. there is condensation of the walls of the container, and the casing gets 3-4 hrs of light a day. Do I need to fan or mist to induce pinning? Any tips?

interesting point, but the FAQ covers how to induce pinning when the cake is in a terrarium... mine is not. But I guess I can use the FAQ info anyway, I really just wanted some advice.

if you check under casings it covers the RH % needed for casing is slightly lower than a cake since the casing has a moistened casing layer that provides moisture and protection. misting is not covered in there as it is easy depending on casing layer to oversaturate the mycelium and get it to produce no fruits. not trying to be a dick just the answers are already there.

Well, not everyone comes to the shroomery exclusively, and different sites offer different ways........if you want advice im happy to give it to you.
To induce fruiting increase air exchange. Perlite or misting is good until you see pins starting then you need to remove the perlite.(careful not to have too much moisture.) It should be in an area that is at least somewhat cooler than where it was inncubating at. And light exposure should be increased.

when shrooms grow in the wild alot of times they will pop up after a couple days off rain and then turn off cold, so spray it and cold shock it, lower the co2 level too

you use nothing for humidity after pinning?
do you put the perlite back in or mist for 2nd flush?

After the pins form i remove all the perlite. I've had trouble with too much moisture leaving it in. After the first flush i stick to hand misting, couple sprays whenever i think of it. I've also left the perlite in but take the lid off a couple days, that way the perlite looses most of its moisture but catches excess water from mistings and still keeps the air relatively humid.

I never use a humidity guage of thermometer...
I go by "feel" and i've even had dreams where i wake up and "feel" the need to do something to my casing ie. more moisture, lower temp etc. i've never been let down by these hunches....strange eh?

i get these hunches too. they are never wrong. if i get a hunch and ignore it then the hunch gets stronger and usually whatever I was ignoring fails (temp usually). Recently, on a dex trip, I kept having visions of the inside of my incubation chamber. If you've dexed then you know the effect. The vision was from the perspective of being a jar on one of the shelves. It was like a psychic link with my shrooms!

Hey! Thats neat!!
Whenever i get these feelings i am in a semi conscious dream-like state....like when you wake up on a saturday at 7, but can never really get back to sleep, but you end up dreaming and waking up at 11.
I had a dream on saturday that there was mycelium in my bed, i was part of it, and i had to help it colonise. It was REALLY weird...
