Every day I'm still practicing acceptance.

Today for example when my post didn't arrive I felt annoyed for a while.

I had setup an expection in my mind and then become frustrated when it didn't arise.

We don't control reality.  We are more like ships in the ocean, we can steer towards a better reality and steer towards manifestation but it rarely conforms to your immediate desire and indeed we should not wish it to.

The practice is to not go down that path.  A baby cries when it doesn't get what it wants.  A child screams when it sees candy it can't have.

Its a life long practice until you reach a point of spiritual awareness that this attatchment has been completely let go of.

Unlikely in the western world where our CULTure is teaching the opposite.

Two people acted weird within 5 minutes of each other today.

I thought I was about to be sent back into the God hacking UFO flying Russia nukes shit again reality for a minute.

Random fact: while be held hostage in the 3rd ward (the only time I did not voluntary commit myself) I walked up to a bird in the court yard and touched him before he flew away.

I have a hard time accepting reality. I dislike most of societal upkeep to provide sustenance to my loved ones and self. 

I think the hardest part is doing mundane service type jobs when there is so much that could be done to better the world. 

My entire life has been attempted escape from reality.  There are times I am convinced that this world is so harsh that the only thing that makes sense is to check out and stop living.  That makes more sense to me then any soul type talk.

I mean who knows of course but the whole post death soul stuff always comes across as insanely egotistical.

sometimes two cars full everyday

its where i came from without mushrooms i wouldn't be here my father made money that way they were born in a shack that is almost no bigger than 10x10 or smaller

i am a shroomerite and proud of it honestly feel at home here hope that wont change

I think this is the key right here; for as quickly as we can accept our reality - it changes on us - sometimes in the most terrible ways. Ourselves and the world around us are never static; in fact reality (ourselves/the world outside us) changes at a pace our minds simply cannot comprehend IMO.

Our perceptions are so incredibly filtered, so incredibly narrow (they have to be), and so I think the practice should be one of acceptance when one notices change. Perhaps even beforehand, one can accept that change is coming - that change is the only constant we can depend on - which is not easy for creatures that are generally fearful/uneasy with change (I think this is a [necessary] product of the ego, but that's a discussion for another day).

But, like so much in life, it's easier said than done. It's so hard to look inside of ourselves and outside of ourselves and not focus our perception on what is most abhorrent and beastly. It takes work to focus on what is good and noble, by comparison. A lot of work. Perhaps that is why gratitude is such a healthy practice? It's easy to accept things when we like what we see.

But inevitably, we will always see things we don't like.

How do we best go about accepting those?

I kinda treat it like mediation in which you let thoughts and feelings "go by" without engaging them.

Thats how i balance the negative thoughts with more positive thoughts, but not engaging the negative thoughts because I know where it leads, i know what it can do people. And its not a good place.

Having an upper-awareness of our thoughts and feelings is essential to a better life in physical existence.

is there an advantage to also accepting other realities, (with an acceptance of no lesser degree)?

By other realities, do you mean the realities of the other people we meet, or something else?
