Is my coir too dry?
    #25754607 -

This is my first time using coir.  I prepped 1 600 gram brick with a little more than 3000 ml water.  It maintained a 170* F temp for about 4 hours, but my cooler isn't very well insulated and the temp dropped down to 150* F by 8 hours from when I added the boiling water.  The coir didn't get nearly as dark (cooked) as other peoples coir pics that I've seen.

When I checked for field capacity it dripped with a medium squeeze, stream of water with a hard squeeze.  I felt like it was a little bit dryer compared to other substrates I've used in the past.  I didn't trust my gut and I mixed up the tub anyways.

I mixed the brick of coir with 7 quarts of rye spawn yesterday.  This morning I woke up and the surface was pretty dry, I've been misting the unmodified mono tub 3-4 times today to keep the surface from drying out.  Any ideas on what I should do?  The substrate is still loose and uncolonized could I add more water to the substrate now or should I just keep misting the shit out of this thing?  This pic is about 4 hours after my last misting.
