I suppose one could argue point by point but what's the point?
To try & temporarily convince someone, one is smarter than some other anonymous poster? Which is stupid enough, without the added irony of the supposed subject being "Buddhism".

And amusingly anyone who wants to 'dis' Buddhism can (I"m sure) find lots of Christian websites that are sure its the work of Satan.

Nobody who really wants to learn meditation or Buddhist Philosophy/psychology, is going to waste their time looking for real knowledge on a sub forum of a drug based website. And to miss this obvious fact does nothing effective for the effort to show off one's intelligence.

The world is full of both excellent respected and enlightened teachers of both meditation, mindfulness practice 'off the cushion', and the dharma (or doctrine or philosophy or psychology).

And all this is available for free at many web sites, as well as on youtube, and in countless books ( available as free pdfs. and for purchase on Amazon)

And of course psychedelics, may offer to those interested, a temporary experiential taste, which again is probably & usually of more value than 'amateurs' hoping to score points in a "debate".

as an analogy the Thermos could provide some insight into genocide or what-have-you.

The thermos is insulated by dead air space, a vacuum, and a reflective surface.

Dead-air space, as a defense, may be characterized by a lack of response to provocation, by reading a thread but not responding for example. A vacuum, on the other hand, is a total disregard or inattention to a thread.

The vacuum, as an insulating barrier, supports the idea of aliens that don't want anything to do with us.

Now we come to the reflective surface and how genocide may be a product of it. Upon inspection the victims may all share a common ingredient.

I recommend the Buddha's teachings-

Those such as non-violence, truthfulness,
(In fact among the order of virtues, truth comes higher even than non-violence.)

Basically I may trying to say, please take a while, a month or something, between replies.
Non-reactivity is very important.
It takes long time...  Weeks, practice, to attain non-attachment.

There are two things, peace and happiness, which are very important and interact uniquely.
Peace is non-reactivity, or many other things.

It's one of the central most aspect of the Buddha's teaching.

by non-reactivity you mean 'bare awareness' as opposed to the kind of thing that happens when people become non-reactive due to antipsychotics.


the refinement is wakeful tranquility and a good connection with what is happening as opposed to the usual defensiveness that distracted people suffer.


I would not go so far as to discuss happiness, or to making any accounting about what is better, I just prefer wakeful tranquility and the ability to focus on what is happening.

Put into perspective, you're claiming that emotions should override reason, and I'm sure they do in the bulk of cases. Who can practice non-attachment within the matrix of bombs and mayhem?
