Yah, but the government serves an actual purpose, a government shutdown isn't going to make a dent in the deficit. I would definitely prefer a big gay parade.

Everyone gets paid in the end. Even those non accepted workers. My friend is in Mexico right now on vacation because he doesn’t have to work. He’s still going to get paid.

Again, no one is arguing a wall wouldn't make it more secure, we're arguing it's not economical. We have put a much cheaper fence up in key choke points. You guys want to put up a much more costly wall acrosd the entire southern border. This is like building a $1000 fence to add privacy to your $120,000 homs vs a $20,000 25 foot high concrete wall to do it. An intelligent person would go with the fence and maybe some security cameras or an alarm system, a total moron would go woth the concrete barrier.

"it's not economical"

That's a matter of opinion, BTW $5 billion is a drop in the bucket relative to the finances of the US government.

In the month of November, the Federal government borrowed $205 billion. It's time to put the money needed for a wall into a proper perspective.

This.

Using Russian or Israeli plans.

It's cheap and everyone knows it.

Funding the IRS actually has a very high return on investment. The ignorance here is astounding.

Notice how XULs uninformed comparisons have been shot down numerous times in the numerous threads he keeps spamming them in, and yet he has no response to refute. He just keeps parroting the same ignorant and delusional talking points. Nothing more needs to be said about that. Put up or shut up XUL.

You are comparing armed gaurded walls in small urban areas to an unarmed wall across a vast expanse of desert. Keep rubbing those brain cells together friend, you'll get a spark eventually.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/homenews/administration/423273-trump-us-needs-border-wall-like-obamas-needed-privacy-wall-outside-dc%3famp

President Trump on Sunday referenced reports of a privacy "wall" built around President Obama's Washington, D.C., home to justify the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, as he continues to push for funding the structure amid a partial government shutdown.

Trump tweeted that the brick structure reportedly put up last year along the Obamas' Kalorama home was "totally necessary for their safety and security."

"The U.S. needs the same thing, slightly larger version!" Trump tweeted.

TMZ first reported two years ago that the former first family had obtained permits for additional security at their D.C. home. The structure, which in photos appears to be similar to a security fence but made of brick, was reportedly completed in 2017.

Trump has pushed for a wall along the southern border since he first launched his presidential campaign, and has pledged Mexico would pay for the structure.

Funding for the wall has been at the center of the budget impasse that spurred the current partial government shutdown. Parts of the government have been closed for nine days and counting.

Trump has demanded $5 billion for wall funding and previously said he'd be "proud" to shut down the government over the money, while Democrats have refused to offer more than $1.3 billion for border security measures.

The Senate earlier this month passed a stopgap bill that included $1.6 billion for border security, while the House passed a measure that included Trump's desired $5 billion. Neither side has offered a compromise in the time since.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday following a private lunch with the president that Trump is "firm in his commitment to make sure we get money for border security."

"There'll never be a deal that doesn't have money for the physical barriers," he told reporters.

The Hill has reached out to a spokesperson for the Obamas for comment.

... there is nothing wrong with showing responsibility and wanting to live sustainably, and the best way to use common sense is with the facts.
Guatemala has the highest child birth rate in the America's at just 24/1000 people, so you can wind the hysteria down a notch. It's not like countries are bursting at the seams.

Also, there are 7 billion people on earth, wishing for 6 billion to not be here is not helpful and a slightly unnerving way to add things up.

@MagicMush123  maybe Trump could ask Obama to show him how he negotiated building that one?

Finally a story qman and I will agree on. Cracking down on the employers who flagrantly violate immigration law hiring illegals. I hope they nail this guy.

FBI and state law enforcement investigating Trump golf course’s hiring practices that may violate federal immigration law

Quote:
New Jersey prosecutors have collected evidence that supervisors at President Trump’s Garden State golf club may have committed federal immigration crimes — and the FBI as well as special counsel Robert Mueller have played part in the inquiry, the Daily News has learned.

Anibal Romero, a Newark attorney who represents several undocumented immigrants who used to work at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, said Friday he recently met with investigators from the state attorney general’s office and handed over fraudulent green cards and Social Security numbers that management at the club allegedly procured and gave his clients, Victorina Morales and Sandra Diaz.

Mueller’s office, which is separately investigating Trump’s campaign for possible collusion with Russians during the 2016 election, made contact and informed Romero the matter was not within their jurisdiction.

A few weeks later, an FBI agent in New Jersey called Romero.

“He said to me that he had received a referral from Robert Mueller’s office and that he already knew the specifics and that he wanted to meet with me in person,” Romero said.

This isn’t anything new. This is the way he has always operated.

Donald Trump quietly paid $1.4 million in 1998 to settle a class-action lawsuit that alleged he stiffed a union pension fund by employing undocumented Polish laborers to demolish a department store to make way for Trump Tower.

I had breakfast at Trump’s Hotel in DC last year. Everyone that works there is foreign. Some of them barely spoke English.

Trump is an unbelievable fraud. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2018/2/13/16466542/trump-h-2b-guest-workers

Quote:
Morales and Diaz first came forward with their allegations in interviews with The New York Times earlier this month.

Both women allege management at the Trump club knew they were undocumented and set them up with fake work documents.

In Morales’ case, Romero said a supervisor compiled all of her information and then took her photo in the laundry room of the club.

A few days later, the boss — who’s not being named by The News — told Morales he had received her fake documents and said he would hold on to them.

“This was a practice and pattern,” Romero said. “My clients felt like they were trapped and they felt like the fake documents could be used against them.”

Fake green cards, and appears it was standard practise? I wonder how far back that started? Ha! you beat me to it!

No good building a fence and putting bait on the other side
