there isn't so much a problem with the religion, as with the society, in general.

i see alot of great failures to confront impermanence on a much more massive scales in the inner cities of America, or Russia, or in the slums of Europe- even in the public centers, crime is a part of everything day life. and people, usually, do not cope with death well.... period. natural confronting death with agony. it's the human condition. -- just because you have some shocking picture with some highfalutin opinions about how the religion reflects on society, means not a refutation of the practice- but nay, it only confirms it's validity. (i feel worse for Christians [and Muslims, due to stupid desert war mentality- i mean just innocent practitioners] everyday, knowing that the society cannot find fault with itself, but will project all it's problems onto religion- like a scapegoat.)

I don't think impermanence is a reality one needs to confront, but rather to accept and embrace.

"problem" can be defined as . . .

A detailed and operational description of the difference between the existing situation and the desired situation.

A matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome.

My my, you still just can't resist,  inserting personal jibes, into what is supposed to be an otherwise heavy hitting intellectual response.

Personal jibes such as:
"highfalutin opinions"

And continue to be in such a rush to prove something, that you cannot bother with proper, grammar, which is almost as necessary in english as in math.
The most obvious examples are these 2 sentences, right next to each other:
" natural confronting death with agony. it's the human condition.",
but is actually a characteristic of most of the post.

Which is clearly false anyway, as anyone familiar with hospice care knows.

...What comes across in your post, is that you dislike me. Which by the way is of no interest to anyone except yourself. Because you are the only one who has to experience the emotion of aversion, compulsively, in this regard. Although quite possibly I irritate others from time to time with my posts.
...Thus in a thread, that interests almost no one, RG can respond to a photo with a pun, whereas you seem to feel a need to prove something, even though you can't quite articulate it.

...By the way it IS not a "shocking picture". As you yourself already know. But if you want to write in the style of journalism for a moment, before switching back to what is supposed to be logic, it does of course sound good, to those who don't read critically. ...The notion that it is "shocking" would be purely a subjective response, of a limited subset of people, in certain cultures.

You clearly have energy, creativity, and a desire to think deeply and make interesting connections--but at present still seem to be your own worst enemy.

Which, a bare minimum of intelligence, would suggest is most likely an issue that extends way beyond the trivial manifestations, we all see on this message board.

If I said

There are problems with the car,

Would you think I hate the car,

would you think I have a bad mind,

a million problems with myself --

probably none of these things.

But because of the topic,

You thought all of these.

You are confused,

I understand.

All I am saying.

There are problems with the car.

It's running over things.

It's going crazy.

Begin: love.

Choose your own adventure.

Pointing out -- 3 genocides in 75 years.

No other religion is doing this.

As I say many times.

Why are you ( 'life is good ') replying to a message that wasn't meant for you?

And then telling me, I'm confused? funny

and then worrying about being 'shot'?

But its really very obvious, from the content that, this message did not concern you or any of your posts.

If you want attention you could start a new post I suppose.

don't be an idiot,

"don't shoot the messenger"

is not referring to being literally shot,

that is not very logical,

or,

very disingenuous.

It's referring to the whole thread.

So is determinism; the laws of cause and effect real in Buddhism?

Characterizing someone's apparent opinion is not a personal jibe. Seems like it was your opinion he disliked.

nice personal jibe.

but no, my grammar is fine. i think my had one typo in that post, i meant to say: "it's natural confronting death with agony."

but regardless, my grammar was literally fine. synchysis is awesome.

and i think i articulated my point perfectly clearly. you didn't even address it.

Quote:
By the way it IS not a "shocking picture"

by the way? see? can't even address my point, not without simply casting it away.

but alas, no. it was presented as "shocking" because his point was that "this happens in Buddhism *insert picture* cause it's got problems, as per the thread title's insinuation".

unless, by his saying "it's failure", he was trying to be sarcastic. maybe he can clarify himself.

yes, YOU see bad grammar, so you keep insulting me. nice.

but no, i like you laughingdog. always found your posts at least on point, to some kind of point. but right now, you're just insinuating shit about buddhism to sort of drag in the mud, and aren't coming up with much great.

yeah they have some absurd ways of dealing with death...so does all of humanity. at least they confront it.

what do you want? them to do mushrooms while they do it?
