Im fairly new at this.  My first grow was BRF tek, It worked great. For my next grow I wanted to go bulk, then I just started doing Bods teks..  Bods teks just work,  without extra fuss.  Why make something more complicated when the uncomplicated version works just as well?  If you want to argue that the modified tubs are better than do the science and show us.  Id like to see the results.  Meanwhile I will do unmodified tubs because they are easy and they produce way more than I know what to do with.  Thanks Bod, great work man.


Anyway, Ive grown cubes and oysters now and I think FAE is over rated for cubes.  They just dont need that much in my experience.  Oysters on the other hand need a lot.

Oysters basically need wind/breeze to grow appropriately

Cubes will grow in-vitro with no FAE at all and look normal in some cases.

Oysters will fruit in a jar too. Cubes are grassland mushroom associated with ruminates they would probably be exposed to more wind growing in pasture grassland as opposed to oysters which would generally be near natural wind breaks(forest)

Yea they'll grow but they'll look ugly as hell.

Oysters don't even do that good in a sgfc, worse in a tub

Here is my first oyster grow, in a martha tent.  I even had a fan in there. I basically had to grow them in an outdoor shed to get them to look like they should. 
Also, it is amazing how vigorous/metabolically active they are. When they are growing out in the grain jars, you can feel the heat they produce.

I'd do open air in Bags if I was going to g to fruit oysters. Some people do these really long hanging substrate tubes but it seems like a lot to lose if something contams. I'm going to do some reishi monotubs and pink oyster and lions mane growbags. I'm also going to make spawn for rugoso annulata. I'm working out a farmers market thang.

Reishi does well as a set and forget in bags if you just want antlers.
