Just curious what this could be?

I think I may have posted this is the wrong forumn so posting it here as its more of a contamination question

So I have 2 different bags going at the moment.

First bag is BRF and verm. Second bag is Grain.

The Grain is twice as old as the BRF yet seems to have about the same growth. However the Grain mycelium seems much whiter than that of the BRF. Is this normal or is that Contam growth in the BRF?

Third photo is another angle of the Grain bag showing slight tinge of yellow, also curious if this is Contam or completely normal.

Sorry for all the questions I'm still very new to this and this is my first grow.

Btw I got my spores from a less than reputable vendor and have been told they were oyster mushroom syringes. However I apologise for the lack of detail as it was an eBay seller so I'm not 100% sure if what I received is what was advertised.

Both look healthy to me. Give them more time, if either are tammed it will become obvious.

Awsome, thanks for that man! This is such an interesting hobby to be stepping into, a bit daughnting with everything you need to take in but I'm loving it so far.

For future grows would I be better off using these bags or trying jars? I intend to be spawning to bulk however if I do decide with jars I only have access to double pint jars at the moment. Would be looking to eventually go G2G into half pints from the double pint once I can afford a pressure cooker. (As the bags and jars I have access to are currently being PCed through a friend of mine)

The Presto 01745 is a great canner that's not too pricey.
Doing your own grain in jars is lots cheaper... Which is better?  <shrug>

Yeah I was curious which would be better between bags or jars, and also between BRF or grains. But from what I have read it's more down to personal preference. My BRF seems to be colonizing faster but the mycelium on the Grain seems to be healthier. And if the only difference between jars and bags, is the time to colonize. Then I don't mind waiting for more spawn to be able to go to bulk without having to use 6-7 jars instead of 1-2 bags

The usual guidance is that bags go with flow hoods and jars go with SAB's..It's not cast iron but its harder to get bags clean without the hood. What you can see though is that those grains are overcooked, they're almost black..so adjust the technique for the next batch

Would I benefit from dunking these grains before going bulk?

No don't dunk them, as you'll be mixing them with coir at field capacity anyway, or at least that's what you should be doing for bulk spawn

Once I go to bulk is it best to let the bulk colonize by wrapping the shoebox in plastic to restrict FAE? Or should I go straight to fruiting conditions and allow more FAE than they received in the jars?

No need to wrap it..just put the lid on if you're using a shoebox and make sure there's a little hole for gas exchange..Just a little one with some micropore if the lid is tight fitting, if it has clips then simply leave them undone..Once you see knots then flip the lid upside down. I don't personally like fruiting conditions straight away as it dries out too much during the 3 weeks of colonization

And from reading bodhistas S3 tek, aparently once the bulk is in the shoebox, if I got the field capacity right, then there should be no need for misting? Simply watch and observe and no need to meddle with it?

Seems almost to good to be true lol

It's pretty much exactly that..I only mist mine once I flip the lid, and then its only a few little spritz in the morning to make sure there;s evaporation going on during the day to trigger more pins, the sub itself is plenty hydrated from 3 weeks back still
