Contaminated unopened plates, blotchy bacteria or just oils on top?

I dont have pics cause theyre pasty plates but if anyone who thinks they know what im seeing post your pics. You can only see it at angle when the light hits it.

Agar recipe is wbs grainsoak with manure tea.

Pp5 pastyplayes with 2 layers of mp(splotches cover the plate so filter failure is unlikely).

Pc heat was cut an plates sat in the pc overnight. Then stored in a droor(some with foil an others not, both have splotches) for a week or 2.

The ones with foil have bumps so im thinking its a dried residue or some crud that gets pushed to the top when it cools.


I hoping its just crud but the possibility it is some meek bacteria is completely there.

Ah damn i dont wanna redo work but fuuuck... ill see how the cultures respond an i might just run with it for some bottles:shrug:.


I just wanna know now if it is cooties for future reference. Ik someone here has gotta know what im talking about.

I cant, it wont show up. If i got a spare plate like it ill see if i can tske some out an try to capture it but my camera is shit for details.

Sometimes agar doesn't set perfectly uniform and clear. You may be seeing that. The important thing is to check to see if those blotches change at all. That'll indicate life.

Assuming you PCed them correctly, they should be sterile.

Okay, now that i look they all got em in some number but ive have a couple successes, one tub off orrisa had pseudo from the start though an clipping it an misting gave them the perfect place to thrive:sad: i noticed in an old pin clone had a yellow spot in the center that was there foreeever. Failed filter possibly do to the position, but if it was in the pin itself it gives me hope that its not the death star i thought it was an that if you can transfer a month before it shows up or maybe its just a really good incubator, i need to read more on it.

Ive got spawning on hold till i do a decent decom with the mop an spray.


Theres some possibility sunflower oil cause i see it on the grainsoak solution when it cools or maybe the coating crud u wash off cause i blended some unwashed wbs an use a couple spoons of that in a boiling pot for my grainsoak.

If its nasties ill just run it an find my vector.

I wish i had a flow hood so i could cool them infront of sterile air the whole time an bag em keeping em sterile to see if it shows up when drying...


Im gonna be pissed if it is cause i worked hard to get good:mad2:
