Bubbler and contamination

Hi,
I've implemented a setup consisting of an aquarium and bubbler. The bubbler is OUTSIDE the aquarium; it is first implementation mentioned in the magic mushroom's guide described here:
http://www.lycaeum.org/drugs/Tryptamines/Psilocybian/gg32/mmgg.htm
However, they do say anything about contamination; I can imagine bacteria can easily get into growchamber 'cause the air the pump provides is not 'clean' (after all, it is outside the aquarium). But can this air still infect the cakes if they are colonized?
Please comment on this!
Thanks in advance

Put the pump in a box that has a filter over the inlet, or put a little h202 in the water.

What Magash said is the way to go. You can get a plastic shoebox from anywhere for a couple bucks and seal a filter into the lid and your good to go. The flat hepa's for bissel bagless vacs work very well.

Thanks a lot guys. I will certainly go for the box, but I will also consider adding h2o2 to the water; how much do you add per litre water?

I'm pretty sure it's a 10:1 ratio. Thats h2O:H2O2
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ahhhh but there is something better, my old aquarium setup used a chemical I got from schools supply. I found the setup on this site but can't remeber the chemical; I mention it only so that others can tell you about it. It allows you to increase humidity to 98% and disinfect the air at the same time. It may be bi-potassium phosphate, but my memory fails me and it has been quite a while since I'm used an aquaium. Search the site for it, and if anyone knows what I'm talking about help him out with the proper name as opposed to a vague reference.

And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me." -- Mazatec shaman

Thanks! I've got some h2o2 (100 ml) and label says: 3% h2o2 solution. I presume the 10:1 ratio applies to this solution? IOW, I have to add the 100 ml to 1 litre of water?

Thanks HerbanShaman! I've searched the web and the shroomery website and I ultimately found this link:

Is this what you're talking about?

Sorry don't mean to be a asshole or anything but using something that can do this, Some caution must be taken when using this stuff. It'll soar right through your clothing, flesh, and bones; but, you can handle it with most lab gloves. It's also good for cleaning your glassware (terrarium or spawn jars) prior to autoclaving, as appropriate. The stuff turns from orange to yellow to green to blue as it is used up. Try not to flush it down your sink--heavy metal hazardous waste that will destroy a septic tank culture and do a great deal of damage to a publicly owned treatment works (POTW) and probably will get traced back to the source. Don't get any metal into this stuff! Reaction is immediate and can be violent and results, often, in the liberation of H2 gas. Using something like this to humidify a chamber is just plain stupid.
