This contamination spreads rapidly on the agar plate. Does anybody know what it is ?

I have no clue but it looks like it's spreading fast...

I'm unsure what it is, i get the same contam sometimes, it
grows like bacteria but seems too dry, I right it off
as a form of dry rot, but this is just guess work.

that was the first time I had really bigger problems with contams. Some of the plates had yellow dots on them. On this plate it was spreading really fast. But I do not have a lot of experience with contams except with trich, lipstick mold and some sort of bacteria which I had on a cloned tissue of an enoki found in the wild.
Anyway it is annoying to lose half of the agar plates due to contams :frown:

I know you guys hate seeing this stuff on your plates, but I love the great pics of bacterial contamination
If this were a bet, I'd go with Bacillus.  Bacillus can vary in colony color/texture to such a degree, that environmental isolates of the genus RARELY look like one another.  They can vary from looking like snot to looking like piles of rope.  They have a couple of things in common;  all Bacillus are motile [except Bacillus anthracis, I'm pretty sure] and so are often fast-spreading organisms.  They form endospores, which means they are consistent with airborne contamination [actually not too common to have airborne bacterial contamination from another genus].  The point of origin of the contaminant suggests airborne.
Nice photos, sorry about the loss of the plate :frown:

So at least someone is happy

thanks for your advice suntzu. I was wondering where all these bacterial contamination was coming from and so I have exposed an agar plate to the stream of my tiny HEPA filter for about 4 minutes. But it seems to be ok, since none of that stuff developed on it. Maybe I just was not working close enough to it.
