You go from gas prices, to homophobia, resignations, to terrorism, from France to California, insert a conspiracy theory, and then water.

It's all nonsense, none of it is based on reality, and you aren't making any valuable points. As a result, I'm not even going to click that video.

The riots are over the price of fuel due to a new fuel tax, one intended to promote less harmful methods.

So the collecting of taxes for the budget has nothing to do with the financial and debt issues of France?

This is an economic issue whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

So because the MSM propaganda says it's about environmental concerns, that makes it true?  Are you always so gullible?

Gullible, I'd have to be damned fool to believe the nonsense you and JHOVA are peddling.

If you are saying that they are generating revenue, you aren't wrong. Good work.

Ha, I was about to say the same thing.  What do homophobia and immigrants have to do with a gas tax?

France is crushing their people with a large fuel tax to support a global warming agenda.

Globalist agendas always crush the working class man.

You'd think France would have found a way to at least pacify the population by offering lower taxes in other areas.

Re: France's carbon tax. [Re: JHOVA] * 1

What could anybody possibly counter?

This post is about France, but for a second let's just look at this.

Quote:
California has already banned gasoline and coal electricity by 2045 as part of SB 100. An insane bill that will turn the lights off of millions and induce 3rd world living conditions for the poor and the working class. CA is also trying to ration our water to 50 gallons per household.

How will replacing coal fired power plants with solar and wind induce 3rd world living conditions? That doesn't make any sense. They aren't shutting the power off and handing out lucky rabbits feet, they are generating electricity via new means, ones that are becoming cheaper by the minute.

Gasoline is not included in SB100, so you are making that up.

So, like I said. It's just rambling, nothing there to even debate.

That's rich, especially coming from you Strawqman.

You proposed a conspiracy theory, one that you have no evidence to support.

If your point is that they are generating revenue you are correct, but the sole purpose of the gasoline tax is not to generate revenue, it's to offset carbon use. It's been stated many times. You can reference the title of the thread if you are still confused.

"in France most the revenue generated will be used to tackle the national budget deficit...Of the 35 billion euros the French government will raise on fuel taxes in 2018, a sum of only 7.2 euros is earmarked for environmental measures"

This is about making sure demand remains weak in the economy. The concern for the "environment" is an convenient excuse at this point.

It's a great time for a massive energy tax on consumption.

To be clear, you are making an inference based on something else. As the article states;

Quote:
Simon Dalby, a specialist in the political economy of climate change at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, says carbon taxes should be part of wider measures to alter how people live, including better, greener transport and buildings.

“It is all about policies for transition to a post-fossil-fuel world, something that needs to be done quickly if the worst of the predicted climate disruptions are to be avoided in the coming decades,” he said.

Gemenne said the protests in France were unlikely to go away soon, and may emerge in other countries as they take more determined action on emissions.

The danger, he said, was inaction, or acting too late to prevent global warming. At the same time, politicians need to be able to show they were acting fairly and equitably.

Yeah, France is going to control global climate change by potentially reducing emissions, even if it means destroying their economy and standard of living for the working class.  :huxleyfacepalm:

Is that so?  China, India and others are joining the party, or France is doing it all on their own?

Nobody said France is going to control global climate change on their own. They are doing their part though.

Pretty much everyone is joining the party, except the US.  At least the US's most populous state is also joining the party.  :smirk:

Christ you are wrong. https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB1745
We are in the process of setting a date of 2040 when all gasoline cars are banned and we also have a law banning coal and natural gas as sources for electricity. Thats sb100. In additionto those we just passed a gas tax increase and car registration increase. The point is to make driving your car so expensive everyone is forced into mega cities with stack and pack apartments. Lots of parallels to frances situation of squeezing the rural white working class. The people have had enough with neoliberalism.

“What does eco terrorism in the united states have to do with france?” Really dude you cant see he parallels of globalist leaders enforcing this crap?

“things i know nothing about are conspiracies except russiagate”

https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/content/documents/21252030 Agenda for Sustainable Development web.pdf
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Compact_for_Migration

Read that from the horses mouth.

One thing few are mentioning is the massive amounts of unemployed economic migrants weighing down the entire system in france. Since 2008 france has taken in 530,000 immigrants. 400,00 in paris alone. They are averaging 550 new arrivals a day. 550 x 365 = 200,750/year. THey cant even work in france with their strict labor laws. Lol.
