I wasn’t going to raves in the early 90s, went to my first in 1996.  It was great, but in 96, my friends who had been going since 93 were already lamenting how bad the rave scene had gotten.  I fell into a similar mindset by 2000, thinking the best years were long gone.  I now no longer think like that; some party logistics change, but for the most part the biggest change is in the partygoers.  I went to a warehouse rave this past summer, as an old guy, and the feel of it, the vibe, was nearly indistinguishable from parties I went to in the 90s.  The only major difference was the music was newer stuff, and I wasn’t able to keep up so well.  My point is, if you find the right party, you can have just as much fun in 2018 as we were having in 1998.  A lot of it depends on your own mindset.
