Section Cordisporae is one of the slowest cultures in my experience. Two weeks is very odd and does not sound correct for this species.

Are you certain this P. zapotecorum?

In any case your photos are great.  I would test out sectors A and B. See how they perform.

Correction: This is 22 days from germination. I winged the date on the original post and was a bit off. Inaccuracy feels bad.

Do I know if it is for sure Zapotecorum? No. I have to trust the friend I got it from and my own layman inspection.

What I know about the print:
Red dusty spores
Each print on foil was about 1.5" across
This myc grows about 1/3 the speed of my Pan cy & trops
I don't own a microscope  Soon™

If I was lied to and this isn't Zapotecorum:
The mycelium isn't cubensis. Too slow, too pillowy. So not a Redboy fake.
If it is fake, my best guess would be a red spored pan that made huge caps.

Either way, I had 4 prints total. 2 of the type that germinated here and two more much healthier prints from a different friend. The problem is that most of the prints I received from friends a few years ago were already a few years old to begin with. Add to that a little mishap I had with the print book and I'm a bit strapped for time on these spores. So I figured that I could germinate what little I can and slant it until I'm ready. I was very surprised when these germinated, the print was nearly invisible red dust. But my healthy looking(but fried) cube prints wont react to soft agar, weeks of pressure rehydration, charcoal agar etc... and I can't afford sterilized rattlesnake venom.

I've been through most of the major zapotec grow logs and see a challenge that I can definitely work up to. Will I succeed? maybe, but I will give it several good tries at least. However, I don't plan on attempting this species for a long time.

Thanks for the validation on the correct sectors. Your input has already helped me a lot.

WOW! Pretty radical results so far! Those results look better than some of the logs I have followed. That little cluster

That recipe is one of the ones I was going to test out. That and the one with conifer shavings. Most recently learned that adding sand to zapo casing(10% by volume) helps with pinning. It is thought to be the one of the reasons why worm casting or soil added to casing has helped some grows. The explanation actually convinced me enough to add sand to cube casing.

As far as speed goes, ya they seem to be extremely slow compared to other actives. From what I have read almost every step has at least a one month waiting time. Good things come to those who wait . Plus, I Imagine their potency is largely due to their slow growth.
