Thanks for making the poll thread. I'm really curious to see the results.

I quit drinking in October of 2015.
Didn't slip up until a year later when I met my ex wife.
Started having a couple glasses of wine or mead with her nightly, and within a week would justify drinking more of course.

Thankfully that only lasted for about a month, and since, have drank 3 times. Only 1-3 beers each time.

I'm now past that 2 year mark, my brain has completely readjusted to the point where people being drunk around me really disgusts me. Simply because it reminds me so much of who I was. That's my theory anyways. I have no desire to drink anymore which is really nice. I'm sure in time that desire will come back, but I'll kick that desire's ass.

Rarely but I play catchup when I do and blackout usually. Last time I drank about 500ml of tequila and a quarter of shrooms. Learned my lesson.

Used to drink daily 3ish stiff drinks.  Have had drinks once in the last almost 6 months.  Feel great not drinking and have no plans to return.

Been drinking more often than I really like to.

I'll drink for a couple weeks.  Then realize how much I don't like it then stop for a week or two.  Then start craving a drink kind of.

I drink manly beer and wine.

Theres days i dont drink at all for several days. somedays one or two if im alone.

For me it depends on the beer or wine we have at home.

I usually drink craft beers and one or two of those is enough to get a good buzz on.

If alls i have is my wifes bud or buch lite ill have like 4 or 5 of those "beers"

Everyone around me drinks regularly,
and occasionally to the point of unable to drive.
(including me)
then we get rides from teens.

The only person I know who doesn't drink is the wife of the brewer at the local brewery :tongue:

Yea I spent a decade in bars surrounded by alcoholics,  it can definitely blur what is normal or healthy drinking.

I grew up in a bar at 8mile/i75 called the golden greek as a kid in the 70's... seeing how people are when drunk made me never drink. It just never made sense to me to spend money to puke on yourself and get in fights..

This is how I feel. I used to drink heavy every other day like clockwork. Then it was heavy maybe twice a week. Then it was heavy on the weekends. Now I have a few drinks on a friday night, and I still feel guilty for it. I wish it was zero, but those lax friday nights are the only thing keeping me sane right now. My wife wasnt a drinker and I didnt want to be a gross alcoholic with her, so I really cut it all back for her. Kind of a blessing in disguise

I have a friend that drinks alone every single night... a pint and a 6 pack.. every night like clock work.. fucker even smells like booze when he doesn't drink now.. Gave up on even talking to him.. usually buzzed by noon

I stopped drinking 4 years 9 months ago. I had to, it was killing me, literally.

I've been a daily drinker for 40 years, but when my alcoholism really progressed I was drinking a
case of beer and/or fifth of vodka, every day, usually starting when I came to from the previous nights drinking.

I was often "in the front row" at the local deli/beer store when they opened at 6 AM.
On a good(bad) day I could do the drink/passout and repeat thang 2 or 3 times in a 24 hour period.

Never missed a day of work from it and never got a DUI.
That doesn't mean I didn't cause any damage because I did.
I lied, cheated and stole throughout my career and practically destroyed my relationship at home.

I'm finally at a point where my family trusts me again but as far as being completely forgiven, not quite yet.
