why do people make drinking a competition?

Why must we make drinking or doing drugs a competition, such as " man i drank all this" blah blah blah..... (stupid drunken trying to prove something assholeness) " i even have the reciept, look at this shit $74.63".... " and this was after i was drinkin (slurring) since 2pm!!" blah blah ( loose interpretation).

this wasnt even the tip of the iceburg, the guy that said this shit was actually fairly cool once you took it into context, however the context was also based on macho shit.

what pissed me off was i was at this party and this dude was fucking drunk as shit but he could drink heavily and hold his own but he kept being the biggest duesch trying to pressure people into funnels and saying how much he already had, i mean it was entertaining for me but the shit he did also made me think and get angry. like wtf good for you, you can drink, sweeeet. so you drink just so everybody knows how much you can drink??? wtf i thought you ingest the substances to get to a place, but once you get there you have to keep increasing the dosage to prove that youre more of a man. all i have to say is fuck tolerance, its really not all that its cracked up to be.

this night happened to be one of the nights that i didnt get bombed. dont get me wrong i drink and do it often, but i just didnt tonight and what angers me is that i know i have fallen into the same ignorance in the past and have been similiar, not to this assholy-ness but still have fell susceptive to the ego power proving mode.ahhh what the shit why do we drink alcohol all it does is make us stupid. and why does it feel good to be stupid i just dont understand. its like the primitive neanderthal kicks in.

there is nothing to prove its not a competition, you do it for yourself, not to boast as a trophy.

Drinking is more social, not right or wrong, but it is, by nature.

Pot can be social, but the high is more individual.

So when you're REALLY drunk, you want others to join you, for no logical reason, when you're high, its more like "dude, I'm so high" other's high, is not really a concern.


Just my experience.

I have some smokin budies that make it almost a competition, breakin out mad blunts.... I usually stop when I get stoned.... Seems like you can only get so high before it doesn't seem to really make you more higher.... ?

i bet you weren't the only one to get annoyed. did you say anything to him? maybe you should have told him something. that kind of thing is only fun if everyone is really partying...if everyones just sitting around drinking and chilling and playing dominoes or something, then somebody needs to tell the drunk to sit the fuck down. plain and simple really..

ya everybody was partying, and i didnt say anything because he was funny and everybody thought he was funny just because he was such a jackass. apparently he just got back from iraq and was celebrating so i guess it was all cool, but it got old after awhile. it seems as if when people get drunk their ego's get bloated more and more as they consume more booze.

your blood can only obsurb(sp) so much THC before it becomes saturated and cant hold any more

Yeh I think there is one of those assholes at EVERY party. First thing they do is prove to EVERYONE that they have the biggest dick at drinking. They have been drinking longer than you, can drink more, and you are the pussiest pussy to ever drink and should just commit seppuku right now because you're such a disgrace.

Drunk people piss me off, and even more so if I'm drunk as well.  I don't drink because I get violent sometimes when people will just be messing with me, and sometimes leads to me losing friends.

I hate the people like you're describing up above.  Get them drunk and fill their beer bottle (or better yet beer bong) full of listerine.  It's worked for me twice.  People smart mouthing me in my own fucking house... that pisses me off BAD.  One guy beer bonged listerine and ended up sleeping in the grass outside because I slammed his ass out the sliding glass doors while he was puking up the listerine.  Before hand he had put out a cigarette on my carpet.

Needless to say, the above mentioned asshole never came back to my house to drink.
