Tossed, but what is this contam?

Hi, I had 4 cakes in Ziploc twist and loc containers that grew this lavender/purple mold. This is the second grow with this syringe, first went well so I'm thinking it is something that got onto the cakes after putting them into fruiting conditions.

I started fruiting them in the jars but had lots of side pins and aborts I couldn't reach so moved  them to the ziploc containers
trying to give them room to grow and make harvesting easier. It might have been a problem from the fruits I left on the cakes rotting?

I was hoping someone more knowledgeable could let me know if it was more likely something in the room or they syringe. Thanks!

If they are full colonized they won't contaminate until the mycelium uses a lot of the nutrients in your pf cake and becomes weakened. If they appear fully colonized but are contaminating they are getting contaminated probably when you are innoculating them.

Yes but do you know what type of mold? Besides the kind I want to throw away and avoid exposing to air in my grow area?

Like is it a common household mold that attacked the cake due to poor conditions in my grow area, or something that typically takes hold during inoculation?

Thank you again!

Based off of it growing on the dry bruising area, it germinated on a spot that was too weak for the myc to hold off. The mold looks like it's hard af to id, but possibly fusarium? Doesn't matter tho, it definitely germinated on a spot that was too weak to fight it off. Possibly it was bacteria who weakened your network, or the conditions like it being too dry. Either wy, it's done and improvements to be made next time is to ensure the inocupant is clean with agar methods, and ensure the environment is spot on. Bruising happens because of a dry sub being rehydrated, so you'll need to mist more too, especially for a cake with a huge pinset like this one. There's also bottom watering too for big pinsets.
