Yeah. In a way you can say physics is the study of god's mind. And everything is made of that.

That is the closest I can come to the concept of god.

so basically you like to use the term 'GOD' to mean something you want it to mean, even though it means something else to most other people, maybe it is a door opener for you, I prefer not to use it at all.

I think it is a weird thing that many people do, achieving a kind of religious defense in ordinary daily life, or introducing local godly rules.

God is simply an intelligence greater than our own. i thought this was obvious

i like being creative and saying its the lost continent of the human mind, but, same thing

Something there is mysteriously formed,
Existing before Heaven and Earth,
Silent, still, standing alone, unchanging,
All-pervading, unfailing,
I do not know its name; I call it tao.
If forced to give it a name, I call it
Great (ta). Being great, it flows out;
Flowing out means far-reaching;
Being far-reaching, it is said to return.

It's just a shot away..

Yeah, I dont like the term god either, because of its association with religion. But if I had to give something the term 'god', calling god to the universe is not so different from how some people understand it. Because 1) it is eternal 2) it has deep, almost magical rules that we only partially understand 3) it gave rise to us, and we are made of it.

But it has no intellingence in the human sense of it, nor it has any relationship with morality nor any other human constructs. It is mostly a cold, or sometimes fiery and ruthless place of incomprehensible scale and size where all kinds of random events are allowed to happen.

My feelings on the we are "God" thing is something like how there is no separation between the observer and the observed.

That everything is a part of the universe.

That God is the universe, and we are it's "children".

Kind of like the acknowledgement of the oneness that is, as opposed to the illusion of separation we have manufactured.

God is absolute, therefore there is nothing separate from it, if there was, it wouldn't be absolute.

I guess that means I kind of agree with what inflaton said, and op*

Open to hearing different perspectives or thoughts against this

your reaching here, your willing to accept the rest of your statement but not let yourself believe there may be an intelligence to it? We dont know that and probably never will.

this is similar to what im talking about, oneness, timelessness, and non existent self created separation between us and the rest of the world.

i believe we are all one in a greater sense. One Love as many people say.

an intelligence you can tap into but cant comprehend in this body because our mind cant really fathom many aspects of the greater intelligence.

If theres no seperation between observer and observed. When i see an ugly chick, and deem her ugly, is it really part of me thats ugly too? :mindblown:

Lol, I just mean more so that what you see is actually a creation of your mind making sense from the information it's gathered.

What you see is actually the final product of the information made into sense for you to percieve

It's the final product of your minds work.

You aren't actually seeing what's really there, youre seeing what your mind created, which is why you cannot draw a separation from you, the observer, and what is observed.

They become one.

Or am I wrong ?

Take away the observer and what can be observed ...?

They have a very intricate connection

Can something be said to be able to be observed without an observer ...?

Where would that leave you ?

I guess it seems like an aspect of the illusion of duality.

Or am I wrong ?

Can anyone make sense of these words ?

Do I even say anything at all...?

No dude you make perfect sense and my question was seriously something I was thinking about earlier. I felt bad for thinking this chick at work was un fuckable. Made me think about how a lot of hot chicks would think I’m un fuckable. But then I’ve also been thinking about how everything I see whatever I think about it is completely a product of my biased mind. So I really don’t know dick.

It’s hard to think about. Everyone is so sure of what they think about what they see but everyone’s just believing whatever’s most convenient for themselves at any given time. That or they talk it over with a social group who’s collective opinion sort of just becomes the mean of each members individual opinion in some wierd way.

It makes it difficult to make sense of things sometimes doesn't it ? When you begin to question your own conclusions and mental formations

I agree, that just because we agree upon it, doesn't make it so, ironically

What is "reality"?

Maybe I've become psychotic.

At least I'm nice to people

I truly feel like a bad person because while thinking today about this I realized I act completely different around chicks I would fuck compared to chicks that might be great people but would gross me out if they wanted to touch my dick.  Ya kno?  Like even if they were a great person I’d never see it because i would be so hung up on them not being attractive. And that’s bad, mmmkay? That’s like rely rely bad...mmmkayyy.

"she's beautiful in ways you don't understand"

How beautiful.

Reminds me of the deformed hunchback who encapsulated perfect character

Lmao nous.

Now you've seen the error in your ways, correct it !

Look at those people as opportunities for divine friendship (in the excellent and delightful sense)

people in africa  see people that are fat, or obese as desirable, they find it sexy because that means they are well nourished and have the ability to provide. even 40 years ago in the USA it was desirable to be "overweight"

The whole health kick, be skinny and have a 5% body fat this started around the 70's.

its just one example how perceptions change based off location and time.

Exactly.

Cultural context has a huge impact on what is considered normal or abnormal, good or bad, etc etc

Same impact on views, beliefs etc etc, and whether they are considered normal or abnormal.

Which is why it makes it so difficult to determine what really is.

The only conclusions I've been able to make definitively* are things like always help others, always do what I believe is right, show love and compassion, practice patience, etc etc.

Perfection of character
