Continuous Growth

It's been about 2 weeks since the first harvest using the pf tek, and it was a very low yield considering that were only two cakes that successfully colonized. After the first harvest, the cakes were dried out for a half a week. Right before they were dunked, a small pin appeared from the bottom of one. They both were then dunked for 12 hours (with the pin still attached), rerolled in vermiculite, and left to fruit.

As the second harvest was coming to an end, which was also low yield, a few pins started showing up right as the mature mushrooms were beginning to break their veils. It seems that the mushrooms aren't growing in defined flushes, and instead growing continuously.

Is this a symptom of unhealthy mycelium or mushrooms, or is this how they typically grow? Coming from a first-time grower.

That's normal.

If you take better care of your cakes you might see more obvious flushes. :shrug:

Thanks for the confirmation. I guess cloning from agar would allow for the flush-style harvests then.
