How would you increase the chances of survival by using quantum physics?

That's a good question, new levels of intelligence and creating new realities is the theory behind it. I guess the physical world as we perceive it becomes less meaningful.

Computers use quantum physics.  So do laser and advanced materials like carbon fiber.  In fact, all of chrmistry is quantum physics in action.  All this aids in our survival.  Looking to the future, our new consciousness will be built out of these technologies and will live in that new realm.

Something there is mysteriously formed,
Existing before Heaven and Earth,
Silent, still, standing alone, unchanging,
All-pervading, unfailing,
I do not know its name; I call it tao.
If forced to give it a name, I call it
Great (ta). Being great, it flows out;
Flowing out means far-reaching;
Being far-reaching, it is said to return.

It's just a shot away..

If the Yellowstone super volcano blows, and blows big, that...would be a problem.

They estimate three major eruptions in the past 2 million years, with the last coming some approximately 600 plus thousand years ago.

The caldera is 34 by 45 miles big.

If it blew scientists say that ash would cover literally thousands of miles across the United States. The immediate surrounding areas would be literally buried in ash. And by surrounding areas I mean every neighboring state (and even maybe states next to those). Travel by road would become extremely difficult if not impossible, air travel would cease, power plants would shut down, crops would be wiped out, and the global climate would be severely altered for decades. Not to mention damn near literally half the roofs in the country would collapse because of the ash fall -- I was a small child in the Philippines when Mount Pinatubo erupted, I mean we lived in the shadows of it (my dad was stationed there) and he stayed in the aftermath and saw with his own eyes the sheer devastation that it caused, including the vast majority of roofs in the surrounding areas which completely collapsed. Just after a few days. I saw the ash rain before we evacuated -- and it was like armageddon. It was the most surreal thing I've ever personally seen with my own eyes. Literally raining mud and noon in the middle of the day turned to complete blackness because the ash in the sky...blocked out the whole fucking sky. Oh yeah, and I haven't even got to the part about the earthquakes.

Basically it would be the equivalent of a large asteroid hitting earth.

The United States would be (obviously) the most heavily affected in the immediate aftermath but the entire earth would be affected, and according to scientists, in devastating fashion.

They say an asteroid 6 miles wide wiped out the dinosaurs. It seems to me that a major eruption of the Yellowstone super volcano would be even worse than that.

Theoretically it could happen anytime. Could happen tomorrow. Could happen 100 thousand years from now. But as long as there's an earth it'll happen at some point.

Yeah that's a big risk, it wouldnt drive humanity to extinction imo but close to it.

We need to start colonizing space to avoid situations like that wiping out the hive mind.

Here's some photos of the aftermath of the Pinatubo eruption

That last photo is literally the air base where we were living at.

And that eruption in comparison would be minuscule to that of a potential Yellowstone eruption.

This is why I support Elon Musk his vision and drive to establish off world colonies will keep us from extinction.

Steve Hawkings said about 1,000 years so that's what I put. I don't think we're gonna make it to the year 3000. We've seen enough millenniums I think.

Stephen Hawking: Humanity Only Has 100 Years Left on Earth Before Doomsday

Oh my bad ahah. Must have been some other scientist but I definitely agree that we have less than a 1,000 years left and I am an extremely optimistic person but even just a few hundred years seems to be so long for humanity.

I'd say we have 500 - 700 years tops. Maybe 800 or 900 if we're lucky but definitely less than a millennium.

100 years or less. there is a lot of things that could go wrong for us my thought that it will be a super bug.

With the high use of antibiotics in modern medicine super bugs can develop. India has become the worlds largest antibiotic consumer, A 62% increase in the last decade.

with all the consuming India produces a lot of pharmaceuticals. places that produce antibiotics have found to be dumping waste straight into the waterways, This becomes a perfect breeding ground for super bugs. People in India depend on these waterways for agriculture and there daily living needs.
Once a common bug or virus can defend its self from our antibiotics its not long before it spreads.

With modern travel people move around the world everyday, it would not take long for it to spread.
there have already been cases of people who developed a super bug or caught it where our strongest antibiotic that we have today had little effect.

:confused:

About 10k years
I expect a major collapse will occur well before then due to environmental, political, or yet-to-be-discovered pressures.
