So the 1:5 mono is done. Got to it a bit late but that's work for ya. Anyways I'm completely blown away. This tub had only 2 quarts spawn. 2 quarts that pumped out 1300 wet grams. Make of that what you will but 650 wet per quart is mind blowing IMO.

The 1:6 ain't far behind. Should be in soon.

don't tell me this is a first flush m8??

thats like 3x what i got from my last 1:2 tube on a first flush

defak :barbershreds:

Yup first flush. I have seen way better with higher spawn ratios but I'm very impressed with the efficiency represented here.

Yes with more spawn. 1700 wet is my best with this culture and 2 quarts but that was with a younger version of this clone. I have since revived the slant and am going to repeat this again with more control.

Nice!
I wonder if the mushrooms are getting more nutrients from the grains or the coir...

Okay so the 1:6 tub is in the can with an around  700 wet grams per quart. I'm pretty happy with it.

This is a pretty damn good return from a spawn used angle IMO.

Didn't you pull 3zips/qt off a 1:2 mini some time ago? (I always remember since it's set in my mind as about how far efficiency can go.  Is that what you were referring to?

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister.  I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave.  I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent.
Triggered yet?

Yep but that one had fewer P values on the culture  and was consolidated a fair bit. I sort of considered it to be a bit of an anomaly. Like I have said a few times I am going to run this a few times with different cultures and variables. I pretty much use 500 wet per quart to be the benchmark for this particular clone and if it goes over that's great. Still finding the sweet spot of sub volume vs spawn ratio.

That does make me think that I should run a few with high CO2 for the spawn run to see if thar changes much. So far all these have been fruit at spawning.

I'm pretty curious about the dry weight, I think it may tip us if the sub really provided nuts or just water

EDIT: if it happens to have a lower dry weight also doesn't mean a higher sub ratio is "bad", just that you need genetics adapted to it

This clone tends to dry pretty bang on at 10%. I don't usually track dry weight but for this tub I will get one.

Like 1:20?

Even if fruiting at spawning can't get it all out in a single flush, I would guess the timescale for two flushes is pretty similar to a high CO2 colonizatation first flush.  I've just been loving the super fast and healthy colonization I've been getting with fruiting at spawning.

As have I.  Also like not having to deal with dialing it in. Just set it and forget it until harvest for the most part.

Pasty, do you get water under your liner? My mini gets about 1/8" a day. Should I dump that water?

Okay here we go with the requester dry weight. A hair under 10% as I figured.

Re: How low can I go? [Re: Nesmaster01]

So my control tub for this little grow is nearly ready. Looks to be on point, maybe a touch low. But it's 5 quarts spawn and I figure will be at 500~ wet per quart like it should be.

What really has me impressed is the second flushes. Usually I see a pretty poor return on the second flushes from a per quart of spawn used picture, it rarely brings the total much higher than 650 wet and that's only if it doesn't trich out. But so far all the 1:4 and lower tubs have done justice to the second flush and none have triched. In fact the only tub to have seen trich before the second was one of the early 1:3 66 quart monos. Pretty decent. Loving the 1:5 66 quart mono, a monster cluster and more pins setting up. Yield per quart will be off the hook.

1:5 second flush

The 1:6 second flush looks promising as well.

From a spawn efficiency standpoint this has been a smashing success. While maybe not suited to people who can produce spawn easily, this might represent a good way for noobs to really see their first efforts maximized. If you have the fruiting space and time for multiple flushes, a lower ratio seems to hold a lot more benefits that I personally would have given credit for.
