Does anyone know anyone that works at Lowe's ?

Every Lowe's I have been to in my state is saying vermiculite is unsafe and they are not carrying it anymore. I know this to be false, as we all do, and I see it is in other Lowe's stores in other states.

Please someone talk to these people and educate them correctly. They are all just continuing the spread of a bad rumor. Don't Lowe's stores network themselves? The regional managers must have some type of meetings... this issue should be addressed so all regions know the truth.

Send them to www.vermiculite.net to help educate them. Please !!
I can't imagine the vermiculite manufacturers appreciate this rumor/lack of knowledge either.

True but there is no reason why you should have to pay shipping and not be able to pick up a normal product at a normal store.

Exactly !! Some people at some of the stores know that it is not bad anymore - we just need to get the rest of this chain to follow. I feel it is on the brink of making it widely available again through a major retail chain.

Someone must know someone in management... please talk to them !! please

A good many people who work for Lowe's (trust me, I definitely know) have little to no training on the products that they stock. You might have just encountered a straight-up idiot. But if you go to your local Lowe's, at the exit there will be a picture of the store manager with his name and a 1-800 number to contact the district manager. You can also go to Lowes.com and post a complaint there.
I recommend that you visit your local lawn center or farm store--they need the business worse than the big boxes. Peace.
