Vermiculite texture?

Which texture of vermiculite would be best for mixing the substrate and protecting the substrate layer PF style? I have heard medium grade?. An aquantince went to Lowes recently and purchased the only vermiculite available. Which was an 8 quart bag of Pursell's Sta-Green Professional Vermiculite. This vermiculite has about the consistency of sand...perhaps a bit larger particles. Would this vermiculite be best to use or should a larger grade size be used?

Hmm..PF tek says to use fine grade. The larger grade would be better used with PF then?

Frankly, I experienced better results with the coarser type, but you might have a different experience.
