Should i buy dung from zoodoo or homedepot/lowes. I dont have much time, i was thinking of buying a bag from LOWES or HOMEDEPOT. What kind is good to buy from there?

Zoodoo will get to ya in just a few days, and its already composted and has a variety of different exotic dungs mixed in. But if your in an absolute hurry, just get the yellow bag with black lettering. Thats Black Cow Dung. Then get a bag of Mushroom Compost. Its already spent, but when mixed with plain manure, it can give an excellent texture and growing medium.:)bluhoney

where can you just buy mushroom friendly compost? there has to be a place... i love natural cow dung, but would prefer to couple it with some good compost

Great suggestion about the Black Cow and the mushroom compost. Would you mix 50/50 or what?

Add the Black Cow to the Mushroom Compost @ a ration of 5:1. Thats what my friend does. LSD_4me, my friend tried to order some actual mushroom compost but the farm said there compost was a trade secret and they didnt give out samples. Another farm said sure.....by the Tractor tralor full only. Theres a couple of places which sell dairy manure, but non which sell horse manure on line. But still checking:) I'll let the community know when something pops up online.:)bluhoney

Lowe's carrys it in the garden center. You can also find it online as well. But remember its spent mushroom compost, you need to add some nitrogen to it , and if your really want to spice it up, add some more carbohydrate sources to it as well.:)bluhoney

the cow dung i have is full of straw it works SOOO good, i would prefer it over horse anyday... its what our friends naturally grow in... my friend brings me this stuff, i know some cow dung isnt good, but if you get the right stuff its great, i mean how many times have you found cubies in horse dung??? how many times in cow dung??? i know horse works... but this cow shit i have now is the SHIT

Personally I think you should go with bluehoneys suggestion. First she is an excellent cultivator and I'm sure she's stearing you in the right direction. And second because zoodoo isn't all its cracked out to be. Out of all my trials with it I've noticed that the first flush is spectacular and of very good yeild, but following flushes carry few mushrooms, and it stands a very high risk of contamination,especially during latter flushes..

Theres a fairly good sized dairy farm near my home.. the farmer has it in big piles .. he said i can have all i want.. he has those high producing jersey cows and he told me he feeds some sort of high protein expensive feed.. if anyone wants to try some of it i ll send it to ya for free if you wanna pay shipping cost.

it should only smell earthy and no ammonia smell at all, if it smells bad id say thats a bad sign, unless you think potting soil smells bad
