He gets to be the captain of the sinking ship, and will get the blame from all the previous presidencies. There is a better than even chance of him becoming similar to Adolph Hitler.. except armed with nuclear weapons. It won't end well to be sure.

he's definitely the delegated 'fall guy', but I don't think he'll go down anything like Hitler. It'll be far more immediate and less spectacular than that :shrug:

If he lets the ship sink because of damage that occurred under past presidents, then yes, he'll get the blame.

His job is to fix the holes, not to bail himself and other rich people out while letting the rest of us sink.

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

    Seems equally impossible medically  given the state of his physique that he could be functional in 8 years. I'm not even going to regress to talk about how he looks when he's golfing, which he spends more time doing than anything else. Well actually I will. I used to only make fun of his hair and other than that he looks ok in a suitcoat. But on the golf course when he bends over to take a swing it's truly disgusting front and back. Between his gut and his ass he carrying around 3 extra people. Besides my partisanship, there is a huge medical problem here. A 70 year old can't live an extended life like that unless they are completely sedentary.

    If he makes it four years I would expect a heart procedure, if not a major surgery, and probably lap band or stomach stapling. If he stubbornly resists medical advice because he already knows everything he will likely die in office, with heavily increased odds if he made it to a 2nd term. I thinking dying in office is maybe the way he would like to leave this world. It has the sound at least of a heroic legacy

    I'm not hoping for any of this, in the first term. I hate everyone in the line of succession and they would work many more hours, relate much better with congress and probably do more harm. They would  pick a new cabinet but that would probably make things worse, effective but malevolent vs. no qualifications at all and a President who doesn't listen to anybody,

    I agree with those who say Trump will resign, either due to mounting external pressure or he becomes frustrated at not getting to do what he wants.

    I've thought about those things, but as much as I despise him he doesn't strike me as a warmonger. It reminds me of the last scene in the movie Michael Clayton when George Clooney tells Tilda Swinton, "Karen you surprise me. I'm not the guy you kill! I'm the guy you pay!"

    I guess the procedure for the launch codes is a deep secret, who else has to be in the room, what are the safeguards?

I don't think we should give Trump too much sympathy for inheriting a situation that other Presidents caused. Obama stepped into a much worse situation. The economy was in complete shambles where now it just halfway sucks. Everybody gets Bush's wars.

Trump is a maverick but its doubtful whether one man could get the radical military changes needed. I say pull out all the troops, and when necessary use missiles bombing and commando missions from helicopters, etc. We need better intelligence/espionage. We can't save their innocent civilians and boots on the ground wasn't really helping. Ideally we would tell all sides that our involvement is temporary and they must settle
their issues and fight their own wars. They are getting much better at killing ISIS. If Russia comes in from the other side fuck it. We don't need middle eastern oil and Russia remembers how their long war with the Afghans was a fail. Not sure of Russia's motives, they already have the warm water ports they coveted for decades.

Justice? Well not quite. The president does a little bit of everything. A little bit of justice and a little bit of tyranny. If a fly lands on a spent shell case in Syria he is going to be informed. I assume being president is a 48 hour a day job and he is going to be having nightmares of mass murder and money. He wanted it.

Let's see how he does in the first round then maybe he will move to the second. He is a serious target also so no more chilling in Trump tower laughing at all the little people. Then again, when you are as wealthy as Trump, maybe he was already a target. In his imagination. Now he is a world international target. If someone wants to fly a plane into the white house lobby he might be there.(except that plane will be shot down, he'd have to be in the Pentagon)

Well it's harsh topic so it can only be described in it's most clear and concise sense of wording. I wouldn't want to be him
