That's just listing at free air. Contact the manufacturer get a chart that has cfm at different static pressure

If you type in your model and then static pressure

Find this



Looks like the cfm drops off dramatically above 0.8"wg

~200cfm@1.0"wg and only 120cfm @1.2"wg

So it you have a 1.0hepa and 2.0 prefilter. Your FH could be 12x14inch 1x1.2ft

If you have a 0.8hepa and a 0.2 prefilter you can have a 12x24 fh

If you make up 1.4" or more of static pressure the blower won't push through it at all according to their chart

lol I was just searching as well, and calling where I got the flow hood. 

But thank you, I am not very savvy to this stuff, hence why I bought a finished flow hood. 

Fungi Perfecti told me its a powerful enough blower to be able to use a prefilter, as most folks do.

So what is your thoughts?  Am I ok?

Get a 16x19 99.99% HEPA that has a static pressure of 1"
1.5*1.583
~2.4sqft
So 240cfm
Find 240cfm on the chart and look to see and find out it's 1"
So no prefilter with that blower.

Or you have a 12x24 HEPA that's 1" sp
That's 2sq ft
200cfm
Also appears to push only 200cfm at 1.0sp a flat spot on the curve
So no prefilter with a 12x24



Flat spot 180-240cfm at tit hairs above and below 1"wg
So like 0.95=180cfm 1.0=200cfm 1.05=240cfm give or take
According to the specs :shrug:

If it passes the lighter test it passes regardless of what that sheet says for the blower spec.

According to that daton PDF I got the chart from you could only have a 12X14 HEPA with a prefilter

well shit.  I wonder why customer support at fungi perfecti were pretty adamant that I could use a filter with that blower.  They said most people add a filter, and that I definitely could.

Is the concern wearing out the blower?

Or is the concern that I've reduced airflow to the point where I may not have a good sterile flow?

I'm clearly not good at these sort of things... Yet I have created a headache when I was trying to just buy a finished Flow Hood and not have to wonder about this stuff.

Maybe I should just use it without the prefilter then??

Without the prefilter, the flame is just about blown out..

With the Prefilter, it definitely bends the flame 90 degrees... so does that mean its good to go?

If its blowing your lighter flame out then you definetly want that prefilter.

It should be pretty much 90° up close to the filter up to a foot or so away
