Oven Hood to flow hood conversion?

Any one fitted a hepa into an oven filter hood?for use as a flow hood.
Just wondering as there cheap and about the same size?Youed have to
flip it over im thinking.But just wondered if anyones already played
with this idear.Search showed up nothing :frown:

i had thought of it, but never got much further then that thought .
the shell is the right shape and size, but i think the fan is not big enough, and the air flo is in the wrong direction .(range hoods suck, flo hoods blow) .
would probably be cheaper to build from scratch . other then that, good idea for a model .  :smile:

Well i just took mine apart(and amazingly managed to put it back together with no left over parts :smile: )and it looks like it would make a good prefilter.It has a pretty strong flow so im thinking flip it over and add the hepa to the out outlet on the hood or take out the exisiting filters using the thicker first and a larger hepa last then just
flip the fan over to reverse flow.Looking inside mine this would be easy.

After working in a glove box a bit i think flow hoods have a lot going for them lol.I'm a big git that needs space :smile: so ill give it a go and let ya know my results :smile:

a consideration: HEPA filters have a relatively high static pressure and you may not get very much airflow out of this. it is possible you could replace the blower tho.
