so ive set my mind on making a flow hood because they make life so much easyer. 2 questions. can i use any hepa? i see many filter replacements for vacumes and those little house hepa air purifiers. obviously im not buying anythign that doesn't say it filters 99.97 and .03 microns blabla is that fine to use any filter? or should i go with a hepa furnace filter? just making sure theres no unforseen differences in fine print i'll never be told on ebay.
question two is should i toss on a prefilter in front of the hepa so it lasts longer? is there any point or is just the hepa fine for a flow hood.

You could checkout ebay for a all-in-one unit.

That hepa unit only cost me $100 + $50 s/h. A homemade hepa will work just fine, Anno's Flowhood Tek.

I bought the housing (complete with fan/motor & speed control) off ebay for $100 +s/h.
Then hepa filter & pre-filter off ebay for $125 +s/h. Then, about $50 more in materials & the result is this. ]

Hepa are normed. Look for a Hepa H14. They are the best by price/quality for our purpose.
