I prefer recurve over compound

mostly cause u can draw it much quicker whih is important unless your target shooting

I got one of these, except mine came with 3 arrows at the same price :kingcrankey:

The draw weight is adjustable from 5-70 pounds. Drawlength 13-31".
I never used it though lol, I just felt like throwing money around for cool stuff. Would certainly like to use it to hunt deer or turkey or whatever one day

But if you acctually want a decent draw weight its going to be so inaccurate. My compound bow is a straight up beast. I doubt i would be able to hit bullseyes with a recurve that powerful. To each their own though.

IMO recurve is more rewarding because it does take that bit extra skill to produce desirable results. It's also a more practical 'survival' weapon which makes me feel like I'm learning something more than just fun. Just as well, you can speak of it being innaccurate but the (god damn) Mongolians were some of the more famous, skilled, and prolific archers in history and they'd shoot your eyeball out the back of your head while on horseback.

Compound leans more towards a hobby, and that's totally fine, but they are more maintenance. Recurve is certainly more of a skill. They require less maintenance, they're cheaper, and you can make your own if you're proficient and determined. They certainly do require a lot more practice and strength though. If you can do that with a strong bow then you've got a pretty jacked set of shoulders and core structure. I think that's a good goal for a worthwhile skill. To each is their own though, obviously.

Imagine a mongol with a compound bow though. We would all be speaking Mongolian right now and we would have Genghis Khan on our money.

If i was ever in a survival situation I would be able to make spears and maybe even a bow eventually if I had cordage.

I do want a recurve next though for when i just want to go out into the wilderness with nothing thag needs to be maintained with modern equipment. They are pretty awesome.
