Cold shocking gnats

Alright I'm in sort of a bind. I have ordered gnatrol and yellow sticky pads, but they won't arrive for another couple of days.
Tried a diluted peroxide spray, it only annoys them.
I have searched the forums for a good while today and read many topics about this. None of them really delve into cold shocking the gnats.
I'm thinking about leaving my monotubs on my screened in porch for an hour or two. Just to clear out the crowd of adult flies. It is fairly cold tonight.
I haven't done this yet, and I probably won't. Any suggestions are welcome, let's try and keep the elitist attitudes to a minimum please.

I bet the gnats will just burrow into the warm substrate until I bring it back inside

Once I took some dry Carolina reaper peppers, mashed them up till they were powder, and put that into a pot of hot water to effectively make my own pepper spray.
Sprayed the shit out of my plants with it and it worked pretty damn well against gnats as a pesticide. I wouldn't try it on your tubs though unless you like spicy food

Trust me I fucking hate those little bastards. always find a way into my grow room flying all over my cannabis roots like they own the shit....
I make homemade yellow trap sticky paper, put sand over my smart pots, leave out potato peels on my substrates, spray 2 times a week and those fuckers still come back....manageable numbers but still
I made this post to make the point theres never any killing the gnats, only managing them. I don't think a cold shock will do too much good imo

Thanks guys
I tried it for 30-40 minutes and they indeed came back just as strong when I carried them back inside and they warmed up. I do think they burrowed into the substrate because the adults were back in full force.
Normally I would throw them out and start over, but this is my first solo grow. I waited so long for these babies and they are only on the first flush.
I think I will try to manage them for a bit with the gnatrol & yellow paper and see how it goes.

I would like to note that I am trying apple vinegar, as well as red wine vinegar mixed with lemon dish washing soap inside a half pint jar with a couple of holes poked in it.
No luck with that either.

the cold will make it harder for them to move from grow to grow, but inside ur chamber won't be as bad so I doubt u will kill them
ur substrate is like a warm blanket in a cold room for them

You are on the right track with the vinegar, but I recommend a couple modifications; use a bottle with a neck (think Grolsch, just gave you another reason to buy beer ) and fill it like half-way with warm water, add 1 tablespoon of ACV, 1/2 teaspoon sugar (dextrose works great but probably any sugar would work) and lastly 1 drop of soap. Give it a swirl and place one in every corner of the room (s) for best results.
I've tried everything short of a flamethrower and I'm telling you this works amazing! Just give it a few days and you'll see... I've killed hundreds if not thousands of gnats this way. Good luck and happy growing!

I like that idea. My house is @60f except my Office is @69 and I still have troubles with gnats.placing outside only works if you leave it there!

Yeah once they are there in any sort of numbers its kind of a lost cause. Put it outside and hopefully you will get some fruits. My condolences bro, but hopefully you have some success with the chemical warfare.

I received my yellow sticky pads today and have constructed a bottle vinegar trap as advised by Invader Zim.
Only catching a few here and there, but thankfully numbers seem to be dwindling all on their own for some inexplicable reason. Seems to be very manageable today with only a handful present in the worst tub, and one or two in the other tub.

Probably most of the adults life cycle ended and they died off. The eggs they laid should hatch in a few days.

Just be wary, I dont want you to have to deal with an infested house too.
