Very nice :smile: a big one hahaha, i got bigger on my second flush i just removed some as veils tearing, i took 21 grams from second flush so far, a lot smaller still going so left in the sgfc for now. So much fun checking isnt it haha :laugh:

Put them in the new dehydrator, what a good investment so pleased i got one ^_^

Got a collection of cakes that will be ready to birth in a few days, that's really what I'm waiting on :smile:
Was thinking about setting up some trays in a SGFC too and see how that works.
I was looking at your 2nd flush pics yesterday, those cakes look good! Are you shooting for a third?
I got pretty brad trich after my first flush on my first set of cakes.

Well ive left in for now as a lot smaller not ready to pick, but i do plan to dunk it after and see if im lucky enough for a third :lol:

I just inoculated three jars last week so im hopeful theyll be ready in a few weeks, no sign of growth just yet, but mine all seem to show after ten days for some reason :laugh:

Put two spawn bags on the shelf to forget about a month ago today. I did break them up a few times during this period.
This bag is almost done, inoculated with 2cc's of Z-Strain.

EDIT: sentence errors fixed..
The two back corners of the bag still need to colonize,and then should I let the bag consolidate further?
Don't have any extra tubs or space for these so I was planning on spawning them in the bag. Have you guys ever just simply poured a bottle of water in the bag for a day to 'dunk' it and then dump it out?
Also, any input on Jiffy casing it in the bag?

Hey guys.

So I'll give you some pics on what's currently going on.
The variety being grown is Hanoi.

This first cake back in the corner got a 3 or 4 day dunk, it is by far pinning the most too. Here's some pics of it late last night(outside FC) and then this morning (in FC)


The whole cake's almost covered, hopefully I'm not getting just a bunch of aborts.


And then there's the one in the middle of the triple stack that I did not dunk or roll, it has the biggest fruits.





And then the rest of the pics I took. The four 'normal' cakes all had pinning underneath them and no pinning on top. I flipped them over a day or two ago to be surprised by all those little guys. (hard to see)



And while I'm at it, this is typical, right?


My first variety I grew (GoldenTeacher) definitely didn't open their caps like this. I know I have seem many similar pics of fruits like this on the shroomery though, so I'm assuming it's just the way of the shroom? Random genetics, MS injection.

How many inches of perlite are in the bottom of the shotgun tub?

The top cakes are dry, mist more.

About 3 1/2"

And yes, top cake was VERY dry. I had it sitting in a pint jar on a wide mouth metal ring for a riser and a 1" for about a week or so. The bottom of the cake is actually facing up now, those all pinned between the riser and the perlite, growing down.
The top of the cake (now the bottom) had a very thick layer of fine verm that was attempted to keep wet, but the cake was often forgot about. I was taking it out of the jar to go bury it outside since it was taking up space, I didn't have room in my FC, and I had thought it wasn't pinning.

Once I seen the pins I figured I might as well throw it in the FC. That's what that brownish/blue ring is along the top of that cake though, rust stain and bruising from the metal riser.

But yes, she's reviving in the FC better at least.

And then the cake below that is one of the now two in there that I didn't dunk. (I added another cake this afternoon, the FC is looking kinda clustered.)

Here's what else I got going on.
A bunch of jars I'm going to try and birth like that (considered invitro?) after fully colonized and then cased. All MS of Hawaiian.

Bunch of WBS jars. MS of Z strain, Malaysia, and Golden Teacher.

1/2 pint Malaysia jars with my LC from MS attempt.

2 wide mouth GT jars with my first attempt of making a spore syringe from my own spore print.





And this bag of z-strain that's starting to pin I think

I like to take on more than I can handle with out enough experience to be successful easily, I tend to do that with a lot of things. lol

Unfortunately, all my WBS jars look Very dry :frown: I'm almost certain they are much more dry than they should be.

Not sure if I should wait it out and give them a chance, or throw out the WBS and clear up some space, then try again.
One jar does have very thin growth that started the other day though..
