It looks to me like it is mycelium. If the only color of it is white, then it is mycelium. You should get pins in a couple more days or more.

looks like good healty growth to me. Make sure the temp in your chamber isn't too high. i find that if the temp is too high the mycelium continues to colonize the casing for quite a while before it pins. You have enough growth to start pinning so cool 'em down! I turn off any heat and put a couple of 20ox soda bottles full of frozen water in the chamber overnight, seems to work wonder when they are slow to pin. Shaker P.s. Sorry if you already knew this!

Well, the only reason I'm concerned is....they shape of the "mycellium". On all my other casings it comes in like little spiderwebs, thin and stringy. But on this one, its clumby and has takin the shape of small white balls (like what perlite looks like). It smells alright, but I've never seen it look like this.

It sounds like you have pin formation. The little balls of what you describe as perilte, are probably the beggining of pins. I call it "knotting" of the mycelium. It usually takes a day or 2 before the "knots" form reconizable caps. The Lizard,

Lizard, should I put some more mix over top of them?Do the fruits grow to normal sizes, or is it like a bunch of aborts?

It wouldn't hurt to lay some fresh casing mix down. Not too much, just a thin layer where the mycelium is already through the top casing layer. And no, the little knots(pre-pins) will not typically abort, most of them should grow like normal. The Lizard,

Papp, if they are knots then you dont want to put more casing over them. But besides that everything looks good

UPDATE:Well, I woke up this morning, and as I went to fan out my terrium, the small white balls had turned Lime Green. Very ugly! So I have taken it outside and threw it out. Is there any way this contamination could have spread to my other casings via air exchange? I have two that are doing excellent, and I would hate to lose them.
