casing- help with 2nd flush
    #2297589 - 02/03/04 04:09 PM (13 years, 21 days ago)

Hey all,

I have been having no problem growing shrooms through the first flush!!! I use 50/50 peat and verm to case my shrooms!!! I can never seem to get a second flush!!!I cannot find out what I am doing wrong!!!I keep everything so sterile!!!The humidity is perfect but after about 2 weeks of growing the casing pulls away from the sides and dries up. I have added water to it in the container but it does not get sucked up into it!!It just sort of floats there!!!Its weird.

If someone could help me out or point me in the right direction that would be awsome!!!

Thanks in advance
MrREECE(Jason)

Did you pour water in the container as if you were dunking ? If so, you will need a weight to keep the thing submerged. Personally, I don?t like to dunk my casings, but if you want to get further flushes you?ll need to provide enough water to the casings, no matter which way you do it. Remember: Shrooms=90% water.

I did exactly that my first grow - dunked my casings in their containers and weighed them down. The casing layer got too wet and it contamed. I don't think weighing them down is a good idea, just spray them like Shirley said.
