What's the best way to work on your abs?
    #22906657 -

Is it doing a lot of sets one after another and aiming for 1000?

Or hang legs upside down and do it hanging ?

Or, holding some weight around your upper chest/head area?

It's diet.

It's 100 percent diet.

Some great ab workouts though are hanging leg lifts and push presses

Yeah a very strict diet and hard work. Your abs are always going to be the last thing to show.

So if you are already toned everywhere else, then you need to adjust your diet. It isnt easy to get or maintain great abs like you see on tv and shit.

I got to that point once and then got extremely sick from over training...because my diet wasnt on point.

Edit-and no doing a shit ton of reps will not help..it will make them stronger/more endurance over time but will do nothing for losing fat there.

Edit #2 - you dont even have to work your abs to have abs...theyre already there. Again if your diet is 100%. Id suggest looking up CORE exercises. Something that works all of them muscles together.

Depends on the look you want, super skinny guys have abs but they don't look good to me. Along with dieting, I'd go with some weighted ab work with plates or medicine balls.

Hanging leg circles. Try to get to 12% or lower true body fat. Abs done.
Personally on top of that I like dragon flags, weighted hyper extensions and head stands. Those also help strengthen the rest of the core - makes a huge difference in how much power you can output and makes the oblique and back areas pop out.

I hate ab work, I don't even train them anymore, ever since I started doing strongman style training they get hit from all angles without even focusin on 'em anyway.

Something like "inversion system"? Or "gravity boots"?

Hanging from a chin up bar and putting your legs together with your feet out in front of you. You make circles with your feet.

Nobody mentioned planks, I know they're kind of the old beaten horse of the ab workouts, but they're good for engaging all your core muscles.  Throw them in between some more advanced stuff, like 2-4min plank thrown in here and there is good.

I must say I am toned at the moment, like I can see my abdominal muscles still, but have not been doing that much during the winter months.  During the spring/summer I will amp it up some more, feels good to work the abdominal muscles.

:whathesaid: thats why i mentioned to him to look up some core excercises. Planks are really good especially if you do some different variations and make sure to really flex your core muscles.

Yes, I do many variations of planks.  Side planks, normal planks, and I do one where I do a normal plank position for 1-2mins then raise my butt in the air so I am in an A shape, and squeeze my abdominal muscles hard for 20-30 seconds then go back to normal plank position for 1 minute.

Planks are an exercise all of those committed to running/cycling should do, they help you keep your self upright when doing longer runs/ride, this improves your ability to breath with your diaphragm and not just into your lungs, meaning you get more oxygen.

This is the correct answer. You have to have a very low body fat percentage. I have abs at 28 years old but I barely work them. Toe to bar/planks/ab wheel. Seriously though dieting is key just like any fitness category you want to fit in.

Yahweh is lying to you... I will show you the way. Trust me.
