It seems like "fucking bum" is the leading phrase in this thread. Either work for your money, or bum off people that do. Over privileged,  white kids, lol.

you (OP) could always get creative/active and look for ways of earning money that don't entail shit paying humiliating jobs op
its harder though and few succeed and you would need to have some marketable skill. so long term, you'll probably need to have some shitty jobs
better to get em out of the way early no?
then again, here I am, unemployed student lol
feel free to ignore

In regards to the original post, nobody wants to work. Nobody wakes up in the morning and thinks "I can't wait to go into the office today to sit at a desk for 8 hours." They just do it because people can't get by in life as free loading bums. Bums need the coat tails of the working man to get by. So thank the working man. Society requires different income classes. This is why communism failed.

Why does your part time job have to suck?  Look on craigslist and get some chillin gig.  Go work in an ice cream parlor, that's what I'd do lol.

I will say though, I have a small personal training business that is sometimes good and sometimes bad so I have had 3 jobs this year to help boost my income.  1 sucked but I stuck it out and left it for what I thought was a "better" job.  So job 2 was much better pay and full time/benefits but I sat at a desk and stared at a computer, lasted a month I fucking hated it.  The money was great but I'd get home and be tired, fuck that.  I quit that shit, found another job that's 5 and a half hours a day for a dollar less and I am super happy now. I ride my fucking bike to work too, no long commute I feel free, 20 minute wake up bike ride.  I actually am looking forward to getting up and riding in tomorrow

I am headed back to school for an accelerated program in the medical field soon though because this last year or 2 has been eye opening how some people live.  I have a degree already too, it's hard out there but you gotta do something.  Fuck, I did catering for the last decade too, that's hardly work at all and you get paid great and get free food a lot of times.

I want into the medical field and crank out those 3 12 hour shifts a week and get 4 days off, that is fuckin awesome imo.

Ice cream parlor is a terrible job. Its super fucking boring and repetitive, plus if you're in a place with like 50 flavors or whatever its a pain to keep it all stocked

Trust me, I worked in one, not fun

Lol there's a menchie's by me, theres 2 girls that sit and bs with customers all day and eat ice cream, they don't even have to serve it, it's self serve.  I looked at them when I went there and was jealous, seemed like such a laid back college job.  I could see stock being shit though.

Another option would be working part time overnight stocking shelves, I did that when I was younger for a supermarket and it was enjoyable.  Bring mp3 player, get given items and you just burn time putting shit away and get paid.  I dunno I dont get how people are ok with being broke I'd shovel dog shit before just sitting around.

OP I feel like I'm the only one who completely understands you. I know you are not trying to live with your parents forever or bum other peoples money, but it would be nice if one could get by on their creative work; that's what I'd certainly like. I oil paint and record my own music and I wish I could sell a painting once a week or something to make money and then be able to play music. I'm not in a band, but I'd like to be. I wouldn't expect to be rich, but enough to get by. I am a minimalist and I don't want more things so I'm not looking to buy things. Buying things is all part of why people think they need to work as much as they do. They think that material things will make them happy or the things will some how compensate for what they lack emotionally or physically. Unfortunately, I am at a very bad time in my life where I am lost more now then ever. I have a bachelors degree in psychology and a pharmacy certificate/license, which I had been using because I had a job in a hospital, however, I left that job because I moved too far away from the hospital. I had been with my girlfriend for three years, next month would have been the anniversary, and she broke up with me on the 8th of this month by sending me a text. We lived together in what was to be our own house (rent to own from her grandmother) since September, however i had been driving an hour and half to work, one way, up until last month. So my girlfriend goes away with a friend of hers and after a few days she sends me a text saying that she loves me but wants to break up. She said she is not happy and needs to become happy again. I had no idea this was coming, I knew that she wasn't happy, but we were working on that and she has depression and anxiety issues as well. I pleaded with her for another chance because I loved her so much; I thought we were going to get married and we talked about kids even. Then I ended up finding out from a couple that we were friends with, that she cheated on me in the summer not long before we moved into the house. So I text her back and confronted her and started saying means things and she said she was done and never admitted anything and hasn't talked to me since. I could not believe that she cheated on me; trust was something that I thought made our relationship strong and great so this was a  whole other level. So it turns out that she was the one doing something wrong and she finally couldn't live with it any longer. Frankly, I'm not sure how she went as long as she did. We went through the holidays, both my grandparents died, and much more. I ended up emailing the person she slept with ( he was a highschool friend of hers and i knew him through her) and he told me he was sorry and felt bad right away. He said she manipulated him into it and said that our relationship was almost over b that point, which is def was not! Then I go through her email and find that she is going to see some guy that she met through Instagram, which is part of what she was doing when she went with her friend. So I emailed that dude and told him whats up, but I did not hear back from him. I asked her if there was someone else and she said no, so she lied about that too. Plus she said she wanted to go be happy and it seemed as though that meant alone so another lie! So many lies! Last night i decided to email her and say how I've been feeling and also say that I said a lot of means things I did not mean. I just want her to know how bad she hurt me; I just want her to respond, but she hasn't. I don't know if she has even read it or if she even will. The least she could do is give me a response. I was there for her so much, like I said she suffers from anxiety and depression and I was there for her through all that. Now when I need her most, she abandons me. I sacrificed a lot of my wants and happiness for her, not to mention the amount of money I spent on her. She did not have a steady job because of her issues so I did most of the working and made the income (we shared money). I just don't know how someone that loved me as much as she did could changed her emotions so drastically and hurt me so much. We also had a cat together that I loved so much, more than any other pet, more than I thought I could love a pet. This cat was so unique and cool an it really loved me. I miss her so much and its not fair she got the cat, our car, and our house. Now I'm back at my parents house with no job, no car, and no ambition. I have no idea what I'm going to do now. I'm not sure if this even relates anymore, maybe just that life sucks or something.

Work is a waste of life. I feel just feel too passionate about it.  Why try so hard to barely get benefits and ultimately die one day? I'm not saying I'm special but I just genuinely don't care about working. I'll probably end up getting a job but I don't want to.

do you like to eat? growing food or hunting is a lot of work. start there and think about it. there is also a thing called integrity and pride!
