mushrooms and creativity (or lack of both)

I pride myself as a creative person. I love, more than anything, to create.

I also see the mushroom as a tool, for spiritual insight, and in turn, creative inspiration. I haven't tripped for almost a year, although I have been very creative in that time. However, I go through periods, sort of draughts, where i desire the shroom to give me inspiration, and i get in the mindset that i need them to give me a push to keep on keepin on.

Anyone else feel like this? After trips, I recollect, gather, and bring back what I've experienced, and sort of expand on it while sober. So i know that whatever state i'm in, i can create. But dammit i want more fuel!

Too bad it's a bitch to get em round here.

Yes, subjectively psychedelic drugs seem to enhance creativity. Sometimes I've found that the creative ideas are either so abstract, complex or (simply) so wacked out that I can't really apply them to the art I'm interested in (prose fiction). Other times I've found that ideas are forgotten before I can record them (like this one damn idea that seemed very profound on diethyl ether).

I have such great ideas for my next trip, most likely because i've been looking forward to it for so long. I bought a microphone to record anything and everything, can hook up to my computer or my minidisc player. i want to bring back as much as possible for creative fuel. That way maybe i can have a better understanding or remember better what i was 'thinking' whilst tripping

I always used to keep handwritten notes, but sometimes when you're tripping balls you just don't feel like crouching over and writing.  In retrospect, I think a little microphone would have been ideal.  Sometimes I used to get ideas that I don't even think I could articulate.  Some of the other ideas have stuck with me.  One in particular that I still think about was a novel about three spheres in a cubic room.  The whole novel was just them bouncing around, but I had to somehow convey that these spheres wanted to bounce the way they bounced and that it was a language for them.  :tongue:
