what is a Micron Magick Mycelium Mix?

The description says that...

This is similar to the brews that can be found to spread your cultures out. You can make 20+ 12cc syringes from our mix, most brews only do 11. The Micron Magick Mycelium Mix comes with a Micron Magick Myco Starter which insures that the mix stays sterile even while making syringes.

I just ordered this and i'm hoping this is what you use to drop a spore print in and you can pull 12-20 syringes full. Am I right or is this for something else? Thanks!

it is called a liquid culture jar. I suggest looking into to the karo tek for more adventures in liquid cult.

hey when did the nook go back up? Last I heard itd been taken down after Nan got busted for some ass sending him pot thru the amil.

I'd be real interested in a liquid culture jar but that link only takes me to the front page of nans-nook and not sure if that site is safe anymore or not

There is alot to understand, and you'd be better off reading the FAQ, but to quick answer:

You put spores into water and glucose. In about 7 days the spores will have germinated and turned into mycelium under water, you then suck out the mycelium liquid and inject it into other things, which in turn turn into mycelium.

There are many other advantages to liquid culture also, so be sure to read the FAQ.

thought so,i either want to try this on my own,or buy some of this mix,but i wont use 100 syringes in 12 lifetimes,and i would be to nervous to trade them,so basicly alot would go to waste.Once i innoculate and mycelluim grows,how long would this jar or the syringes be good for in the fridge?

I'm not really sure. I'm sure it would be best to use as quick as possible, but I'm sure it should store for a little while.

Though its always good to support the sponsors, you just need a jar, spores, water, and Karo. Read up on the FAQ's, cuz its really easy, and the time on colonization compared to spores is much lower.

Myc syringes are good in tha fridge for months, but i think 100 is a very high estimate. from what I know  :wink: you can make about 10 syringes from a 1/4 pint of karo water after incubating it for about 2-3 weeks. Inject yer spore, let it germinate and add a few a cc of h202. And don't buy it just look up the liquid culture teks on nansnook.com.

yes boil in a few inches of water for 10 min.

I also advise building and using a still air glove box for innoculating and extracting myc from the LC jar.

Afoaf used a microwave to sterilize the karo:
1 min on high then 5 min cooldown, repeat 3 times.
covered with coffee filter then tyvek after
innoculation in glovebox. 3-5 days later and there
is a "cloud" around the spores.  :syringe:

know someone else who did the same thing 1 min nuke 5 min cool 1 min nuke worked like a champ he did 5 jars using that and 5 with spores the myc ones were halfway done before the spore ones even got going. really does speed things up.

If you have a fully colonized cake you can shoot a syringe full of sterile h20 into the side of the jar then suck it back up and use that to make karo. incubate for about a week and you'll be golden

100 10cc syringes is a little over a quart (one liter)
