Is a quarter inch hole about the size of a standard pencil??

can anyone answer this i have no standard size drill bits on hand

Its the size of a decently sized Philips head. I'd say maybe a size 2 or 3

The sides of a #2 pencil are 1/4 inch apart, but its actual diameter is slightly larger because of the pencil's shape. However, you might run into some issues trying to punch a softwood pencil through a metal can lid.

Any common philips screwdriver for normal sized house screws will do the trick, long as its big enough to pull poly through etc its fine

You're gonna need a 1/4" drill bit to get it right in that case, any other method is going to be long and probably inaccurate. Some people use solder irons, but that just seems risky when you've gotta do 200 holes

Risky how? The soldering iron speeds things up IMO

the tub im using isnt as long as the bigger ones so it wont take that long..

i have no access to a drill which is why i asked...

its not that hard if you start the whole by melting it and then finishing with the screwdriver
