sounds like a waste of time realy,your perlite will put out enough humidity.the only reason for using hydroton is that it's a lot cleaner to work with than perlite.
if anything i'd just mix it in with the perlite,next time buy a few more scoops so you have enough to fill the bottom of your pod.
